LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jessica Simpson remains grateful despite her separation from Eric Johnson.

The 'Irresistible' singer shared an update on their relationship more than a month after confirming the end of their 10-year marriage.

"I’ve grown up so much. I can handle so much," Simpson said in an interview with People on February 19.

"Maybe I’m just meant to love a lot of people in my life," Simpson added.

Reflecting on her journey, the 'I Wanna Love You Forever' singer shared, "I don’t know why my heart gets tossed around, but I’m one of the lucky ones."

"At least I have my children and I still have Eric. He’s still very much a part of my life and will always be," she added.

The former couple, who share children Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, five, have continued co-parenting.

Jessica Simpson credits music for helping her 'own herself'

They even lived together at a rental home just outside Nashville while Jessica recorded her upcoming EP, 'Nashville Canyon: Part 1,' set for release on March 21.

"Discovering this music is something I did on my own," Simpson said about the five-song project. "Thank God I had Nashville, it was just a way of me owning myself and declaring it," she added.

Expressing her excitement about her latest work, she said, "I am a woman now, and I can do what I want and to have freedom in music."

Describing the essence of her new EP, she added, "I think that’s what you’re going to feel in 'Nashville Canyon.'"

She added, "I think that’s a cool thing about life, just always growing and finding yourself, wherever that’s supposed to be."

Simpson confirmed speculation about her and Eric Johnson’s split in January.

"Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage," Simpson told E! News in last om January, 13.

She said, "Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them."

The 'With You' singer added, "We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family."
