LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jessica Simpson posted a touching ode to her mother Tina Simpson on Instagram on Saturday, January 18, in honor of her birthday. However, fans were baffled by Tina's unrecognizable appearance in the photo she posted.

The birthday tribute came only days after Simpson revealed to People in a statement that she and her husband, Eric Johnson, "have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage".

Simpson and the 45-year-old former NFL player share three children together: Birdie, 5, Ace, 11, and Maxwell, 12.

In a long caption, the 44-year-old 'With You' singer, who is currently going through an unpleasant split from husband Eric Johnson, exclaimed that her mother Tina is her "guide" and has the "brightest" light.

The TV personality added, "Happy Birthday to my Mommy - the giver of abundance, love, passion, and purpose," next to a picture of Simpson with her mother.

"Your light is the brightest of all-assembled by the multitudes of your individual blessings that create iridescent and unique sparks! There is an honesty within your heart that gives truth to divine ambition and a courageous certainty that represents how passion can lead to unparalleled greatness," the singer continued, describing her mother's "glow".

"As your first born, I can say exactly what I need to say, be entirely who I am, love selflessly without fear or expectation and always find ways to think outside of the box to solve any problem at any given time..."

Simpson went on to refer to Tina as her "guide", adding that she had "shown me the beauty in the how. Many of these things cannot be taught with words - only through leadership and action".

"I'm led by your example and grace each and every single given day. You make it all happen even if you don't know how, you learn to find the way," said Simpson.

The 'Dukes Of Hazzard' actress praised her mother's "inventiveness", saying that her work encourages "everyone to not just dream, but also to follow through and to do so with an exciting confidence", per Page Six.

Simpson also added, "There is no stopping YOU when you believe in something with all of your heart. I am so lucky to be something and someone you believe in."

"When there is responsibility, commitment, determination, and integrity required YOU ARE THE GOAT," she said.

"Every single sunrise and sunset and especially on a full moon there's nobody in this world I'd rather be loved by than you," the mother-of-three continued toward the end of the heartfelt message.

"I love to love you, make you proud, hug you and work alongside you each and every day for eternity! Thank you for making me a priority and for always giving me the no matter what kind of love!" Simpson said while ending her post.

Tina made a tender remark in response to her firstborn daughter. She wrote, "I love you Jessica thx you for such a beautiful tribute I am so grateful for my family and friends. Thank you all for the beautiful birthday wishes! I Love You All 🙏🏼🥳❤️ This is 65 Hello Senior Discounts! 🙌 🙌🙌."

Jessica is the eldest daughter of Tina and Joe Simpson, who got married in 1978 but separated after 34 years. Jessica wrote about her parents' divorce in her memoir 'Open Book', which came out in 2020.
