Jill Biden hugs Kamala Harris at DNC event after Kennedy Center snub, Internet says it 'appears phony'

WASHINGTON, DC: First Lady Jill Biden heartily praised Vice President Kamala Harris while introducing her at the Democratic National Committee's Holiday Reception on Sunday, December 15, as per the Daily Mail.

The duo even shared a warm embrace at the reception, but the netizens weren't buying the friendly gesture as rumors of conflict between the two continue to rise. 



 

Earlier in the month, Joe and Jill Biden appeared to ignore Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, despite their proximity, as they applauded enthusiastically for the president and first lady as they entered the Kennedy Center Honors to a standing ovation.

At the DNC event, Jill Biden praised her husband and the vice president, saying, "Our party chooses leaders who have integrity like Joe and Kamala, people who lead with compassion and decency, people who fight so that everyone in our country can get a fair shot." 



 

She also praised Second Gentleman Emhoff, with whom she is known to share a cordial relationship.

"I really admire you Doug for how you stood up for what you believed in and you went all over the country and grew into the role," Jill said. "You've been a good partner to Kamala but you've also been a good partner to me, and I really appreciate that. We have a really good time cycling together, so I'm going to miss that."

Recalling Harris' mother's question about what the vice president was going to do to change things she was angry about, Jill stated, "Kamala you answered your mother's question, becoming the first woman ever to serve as vice president, being Joe's true and trusted partner."

The POTUS was also appreciative of his second-in-command, as he expressed, "(Harris) always served this country with purpose and integrity, and she always will... And you're not going anywhere, kid — because we're not going to let you go."

In her turn, Harris thanked the first lady for her support, saying, "I'll say something about Jill Biden, something that probably most of you know, she's a tough cookie that cares so deeply. Jill, it's been an extraordinary experience to work with you and our friendship is life long as you know, and I love you, thank you."

Internet refuses to buy the cordial interaction between Jill Biden and Kamal Harris

Netizens were skeptical about the warm relationship portrayed by Kamala Harris and Jill Biden at the DNC event. 

One wrote, "Jill Biden will only hug Kamala again to stab her in the back. These 2 women loathe each other," and another claimed, "Kamala tried making eye contact with Jill after the hug, Jill was having none of it lol." 

"Yeah Jill’s move off to the side immediately looking away while Kamala kept looking for eye contact was very telling," a person remarked, while someone else added,"Jill hates Kamala's guts." 

"Appears phony. Both love the freebies and the attention," an individual jibed. 

One more observed, "The lack of unity within the administration is glaring, and it’s clear that personal tensions are overshadowing what should be a team effort. The American people deserve better than this infighting...."
