WASHINGTON, DC: Following Joe Biden's widely criticized presidential debate performance on June 27, many in the media have acknowledged that the 46th president seems out of his element.

Meanwhile, Vogue had already gone to print with its July issue featuring first lady Dr Jill Biden in an expensive Ralph Lauren silk dress. The issue's subsequent release on July 1 was met with widespread criticism.

The timing of the shoot and interview, which took place months prior to the debate, suggests that the awkwardness would have prevailed regardless of the debate's outcome, New York Post reports.

Jill is allegedly spurring on her husband, asserting to him and the public that he should continue to govern the country. The flattering article depicts her as an indefatigable everywoman, serving as the president's eyes and ears.

“Look, I know that food prices are up,” she remarked in the interview, mentioning that she shops in Wilmington, Delaware, for her own groceries. She is still an instructor at a Virginia community college.

Jill Biden assigns articles to students instead of expensive books, with the focus on providing information to her husband Joe.

Vogue article did not mention Joe Biden's advanced age

After the debate, Jill told him, "Joe, you did such a great job. You answered every question.”

Any discussion of the 2024 Biden campaign would be incomplete without mentioning the familiar Democratic warning that "Democracy is on the line," a sentiment that Jill Biden expressed to Vogue, followed by several variations on the theme.

“Each campaign is unique. But this one, the urgency is different. We know what’s at stake,” she said. “Joe is asking the American people to come together to draw a line in the sand against all this vitriol.”

The Vogue article did not discuss President Biden's advanced age.

Notably, the magazine included an editor's note online about the debate held on Thursday, June 27.

“[The Biden family] will not let those 90 minutes define the four years he’s been president. We will continue to fight,” Jill said.

However, it appears that the president's family believes they have a right to a second term. Biden "will always do what's best for the country," she continued.

The opening paragraph of the Vogue profile unintentionally reveals the Bidens' enthrallment with influence.

“If you want to know what power feels like, try to get yourself driven around in a motorcade,” the story says describing how they “run red lights and whip round curves so fast I can barely take in the commonplace American view. Tract housing, big box stores, churches, office parks, semi-industrial no-man’s-land.”

Vogue gushes that, “It’s as if the world is holding its breath. For you. Also, rules don’t apply.”
