LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jimmy Fallon didn't shy away from roasting President Joe Biden during the recent episode of 'TheTonight Show' on Tuesday, August 20.

Fallon took a jibe at Biden's late-night appearance at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), highlighting the unusual timing of his speech.

Jimmy Fallon roasts Joe Biden’s DNC appearance and presidential race exit

"Last night, the Democratic National Convention kicked off, and Joe Biden was set to deliver the primetime address, but he didn't take the stage until 11:30," Jimmy Fallon remarked.

"In a strange turn of events, Biden was awake at midnight while the rest of the nation was already asleep," he added.

"All night long, Democrats were chanting, 'We love you, Joe!' while Biden must have been thinking, 'Well, maybe not as much as some others,'" the comedian joked.

Fallon took another swipe by pointing out the odd scenario of the president making an appearance at the convention after exiting the 2024 race last month. This came after a debate performance in June that led to widespread calls from within the Democratic Party for him to step down.

"Yep, being at the convention after stepping out of the race had to be a tough pill to swallow," Fallon said. "Though, at 81, it probably blends in with all the other pills."

However, President Biden delivered his speech by urging Americans to take a stand for the core values that define the nation: freedom, democracy, and unity. “Let me ask you, are you ready to vote for freedom? Are you ready to vote for democracy and for America?” Biden asked the crowd.

Jimmy Fallon’s playful jabs at Joe Biden and Tim Walz steal the show at DNC

In addition to his playful jabs at President Joe Biden, Jimmy Fallon turned his humor toward Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, following remarks made by Lt Governor Peggy Flanagan at the DNC.

Flanagan had mentioned Governor Walz's fondness for various snacks, giving Fallon the perfect opportunity to add a light-hearted twist to his commentary.

"For almost six years, I've worked side by side with Governor Walz. He does it all with a big heart, a buffalo plaid jacket, and a bottomless bag of snacks—Nutter Butters, cheese curds, and Diet Dew," Flanagan said.

Fallon responded with his signature wit, saying, "Wow. It sounds wild, but in Minnesota, that’s breakfast. Nutter Butters, cheese curds, and Mountain Dew. Forget Biden. Is Tim Walz going to make it another four years?"

"Meanwhile, Trump is probably thinking, ‘Damn, we have more in common than I thought. Nutter Butters. Cheese curds,’” Fallon added.

He also highlighted the second night of the convention, themed “A Bold Vision for America’s Future.”

Commenting on the prominent speakers, including Michelle Obama, who received several standing ovations, Fallon quipped, “At first, Kamala Harris was like, ‘Go, Michelle!’ But after a while, she was probably thinking, ‘Okay, that’s enough.’”
