Fallon greeted his audience wearing a hat resembling Melania’s as he quipped, “After this, we’re going to play Who Wore It Better: Me, Melania, or the Hamburglar,” referring to the McDonald’s character.

Jimmy Fallon then removed the hat, tossed it aside, and transitioned into a monologue filled with jokes about Donald Trump and Melania.

The late-night host later displayed an image of Melania wearing the hat and joked about her resemblance to a famous film character.

“People weren’t sure if she was there for the inauguration or to kill Indiana Jones,” said Fallon.

Addressing the moment when the hat appeared to block Donald Trump's attempt to kiss her, Fallon remarked, “That’s not just a hat; it’s Melania’s very own border wall," New York Times noted. 

He also joked about Trump’s fixation with the hat, saying, “All day long, Trump kept cutting into the hat, hoping it was cake.”

Although Jimmy Fallon’s jokes were meant to be humorous, they drew criticism from several people online.

One user on X wrote, "He’s going to regret this one. What a dumba*s." Another stated, "I thought we weren't allowed to trash a woman's appearance? Or are there different rules now? Zero class, I'm out. Peace!"

Criticism also centered on respect for Melania, with one person saying, "Can’t believe I used to love you. No respect for Republican women? None for your First Lady, who hasn’t really been mean or vicious to anyone? She is just leading her life, why don’t u focus on your wife instead?"

While many criticized Fallon, others defended Melania Trump and her choice of attire. "MELANIA did. She always looks amazing. #TheGOAT," praised one user.

Another said, "Not cool. How would you like it if they made fun of your wife?? No class!!"

Some also took aim at Fallon directly. "Pathetic. Jimmy Fallon is so sad. He thinks he's relevant. No one is listening anymore," wrote one user.
