Jimmy Fallon opens up about his ‘ugly' feud with Mark Consuelos:’It did get a little dirty’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jimmy Fallon and Mark Consuelos were locked in an intense feud while competing for the title of 'People’s Sexiest Talk Show Host' in the readers’ choice poll. 

The rivalry came to a head on October 30, when it was announced that Consuelos, 50, claimed the top spot for the second year in a row, beating Fallon, 50. 

He also triumphed over Mario Lopez, 51, and comedian Seth Meyers, 50. Although the pair may have resolved their issues, behind the scenes, tensions ran high, with Fallon even urging Consuelos, 53, to drop out of the competition.

Jimmy Fallon addresses feud with Mark Consuelos

During the December 13 episode of 'Live with Kelly and Mark', Jimmy Fallon addressed the ongoing drama. 

He joked, "People's Sexiest Talk Show Host and everyone voted, and Mark Consuelos mopped the floor with me. And he won. And you really did it and you deserve it."

Consuelos’s wife, Kelly Ripa, chimed in, saying, "It got ugly, it got dirty."

Fallon agreed, adding, "It did get a little dirty because there were some attack ads that I aired." Fallon informed that he even asked Consuelos to remove his name from the ballot of People's Sexiest.

Consuelos responded, "I tried! I tried to drop out, but the people at People said 'you can't drop out'. I did ask them after the fact if it was close, and they said it was very close. You won the electoral college."

Fallon paid no heed and continued "I asked you to drop out! Respectfully drop out of the race! I got to go around the city. I got to see you all over the city with no clothes on!" Fallon then proceeded to a photo of Consuelos on a billboard.

He concluded, "Man, I tried really hard. You're the best, you're a good sport about it."

This isn't the first time Fallon has addressed the drama. Back in September, he commented about it, “He doesn't need this, he's sexy every day. I don't even get on these lists at all.”

While Fallon didn't embrace the victory, he presented Consuelos with a large bouquet of white roses, as per Daily Mail.
