MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: On the June 18 episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', host Jimmy Kimmel humorously pretended to align with Sean Hannity, entertaining the possibility that the Fox News host's claims about performance-enhancing drugs at the first Biden-Trump debate could be true.

However, Kimmel then suggested that Donald Trump should be tested "for Adderall and Cialis" before dismissing the notion of a "magic debate pill," adding, “It’s all nuts. It’s just nuttiness."

Jimmy Kimmel supports drug testing proposal for presidential debates

During his monologue, Kimmel pointed out that President Joe Biden is scheduled to debate Donald Trump on June 27.

Reportedly, the upcoming debate will be historic as the first to feature a sitting president and a former president, marking the first debate appearance for both Biden, who faced no significant opposition for the Democratic nomination, and Trump, who opted out of the Republican primary debates since 2020.

Kimmel also noted that Fox News personalities are once again promoting the bizarre conspiracy theory that Biden’s energetic public appearances, which counter claims of senility, are due to some unspecified performance-enhancing drug.

"I like it too," Kimmel quipped after airing a clip of Sean Hannity promoting these theories. Hannity suggested that Biden would be "hyper-caffeinated" during the debate and advocated for drug tests before presidential debates.

“I think it makes perfect sense. Let’s do it,” Kimmel said. “Let’s test the President for caffeine. Let’s test Trump for Adderall. And Cialis. Let’s see how the test come out.”

As per The New Republican, Hannity has previously speculated about Biden possibly using drugs to enhance his performance, echoing similar remarks made recently on his TV show.

Hannity referred to Republican discontent over Biden undermining their "Sleepy Joe" narrative during this year's State of the Union address.

"Whatever Joe drank, ate, took before the State of the Union—maybe it was just Red Bull and caffeine pills. I don’t know," Hannity commented last week.

Kimmel mocks debate terms like 'tranquilizer dart' and coin flips for podiums

Kimmel then dismantled the idea, sarcastically questioning, "Who in the world, honestly, who in the world is buying this idea that there’s some magic ‘debate pill’ you can take?” Kimmel asked. “That makes you… if there is, I would like one. Because it sounds great."

"It’s all nuts. It’s just all nuttiness."

Moving on, Kimmel outlined the terms for the upcoming debate between Biden and Trump. "There will be no audience, microphones will be muted when the other person is speaking, and CNN says they will ‘use all tools at their disposal to enforce timing and ensure a civilized discussion,'" Kimmel detailed.

"Which is a nice way of saying Jake Tapper will be armed with a tranquilizer dart," he humorously added.

“Podium positions, even where they’re standing, will be determined by a coin flip, which is also how Trump determines his position on abortion that day,” Kimmel joked.

He added, “Neither candidate will be allowed to bring notes, they will be given a pen, a pad of paper, and a bottle of water. Trump has apparently agreed to these rules – which is something to keep in mind ten days from now when he claims the whole thing was rigged against him. Okay?”

As per CNN, the debate will feature two commercial breaks, with campaign staff barred from interacting with candidates during these intervals. Each candidate will stand at identical podiums determined by a coin toss. Microphones will be muted except for the speaking candidate. Props and pre-written notes are prohibited, but candidates will have access to a pen, paper, and water.

Social media abuzz with praise for Jimmy Kimmel and condemnation for Sean Hannity

Social media users flooded Kimmel with praise while simultaneously lambasting Hannity.

One viewer expressed, "I am so tired of Fox News, Trump and the GOP. The hypocrisy is absolutely insulting."

Another viewer shared, "Kimmel is the best 'news source' for us Europeans who needs an honest update on American politics."

Another person praised, "You outdid yourselves with this episode. So great waking up to this kind of "news"."

One viewer pointed out, "Hannity is an absolute joke."

A follower observed, "Biden should definitely call their bluff and agree that both of them take a drugs test just to watch Trump scramble for an excuse not to do it."

One comment stated, "Let’s test the Fox News team for what ever they are taking."

Another comment read, "It would seem that "Idiocracy" is approaching reality...sigh..."

"Let's test Hannity for stupidity. Didn't you lose enough money for Fox IMO Hannity," explained an individual.
