LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jimmy Kimmel reacted to Senator Ted Cruz's criticism of Marjorie Taylor Greene during his monologue on the October 30 episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'. Cruz accused the Georgia congresswoman of adopting very liberal views amid the ongoing government shutdown, prompting Kimmel to find the situation both ironic and amusing.

Jimmy Kimmel applauds Marjorie Taylor Greene for challenging Republican leadership

Applauding Greene for challenging her own party’s leadership, Kimmel said, “Yesterday, we learned that insurance premiums for millions of Americans’ healthcare are about to skyrocket. One of the only Republicans who seems to care about that is, of all people, Marjorie Taylor Greene.”

He continued, “She’s been challenging her party and the speaker of the House, which is so interesting because there’s a woman who didn’t just drink the Kool-Aid, she chugged it. I mean, she drank all the Kool-Aid — and not just the regular flavors like ‘close the borders’ and ‘the election was stolen.’ She drank the obscure, limited-time-only flavors like ‘Jewish Space Laser’ and ‘Pizzagate.’ And now she’s looking around at these people and she’s like, ‘Are you guys nuts?'"

Kimmel added that Greene had gone “so far right” she had “come out on the other side,” turning what might seem extreme into an unexpected critique of her own party.

Kimmel noted that many Republicans, including Senator Cruz, were unhappy with Greene’s remarks. “Ted Cruz is so upset with Marjorie he can barely unhinge his jaw to swallow a piglet,” Kimmel joked, before showing footage of Cruz accusing Greene of adopting “very liberal” beliefs.

“Of course, that’s just a brazen lie. She’s not for open borders. She’s not for amnesty. But I have to say, I love this. It feels like Jurassic Park when the velociraptors turn on the guys who run the place,” Kimmel added.

Ted Cruz dismisses Marjorie Taylor Greene as ‘very liberal'

In Wednesday's episode of CNBC's 'Squawk Box', Cruz urged people to ignore her. “My advice is don’t spend much time worrying about what Marjorie is saying,” Cruz said.

Cruz claimed his colleague was “suddenly” advocating for Democrat-aligned policies and asserted her views did not reflect the vast majority of Americans.

“What I find is a pretty consistent pattern is whenever an elected official decides that they’re going to turn on Israel and they hate Israel, you will very quickly see every other policy out of their mouth become very, very liberal,” Cruz said.

The Texas senator appeared to be referencing Greene’s criticism of Republicans for not coming up with an affordable healthcare plan amid the shutdown, condemning Israel for “war crimes” against Palestinians, and advocating for the release of the Epstein Files.
