Joe Alwyn denies having ever visited London pub ex-GF Taylor Swift references in track 'The Black Dog'
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Joe Alwyn has broken his silence over his breakup with Taylor Swift and denied visiting the London pub that the popstar referenced in her song 'The Black Dog'.
The actor—who was in a relationship with the singer for six and a half years—recently opened up on his breakup with Swift and called his relationship with the singer "long, loving" and "fully committed."
Joe Alwyn claims never visiting 'some bar called The Black Dog'
In an interview with The Sunday Times, the 33-year-old actor talked about his hobbies and the bar that his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, 34, mentions in her song 'The Black Dog'.
Regarding his free time, he remarked, "It probably looks pretty similar to yours, or anyone’s — seeing friends, traveling, going to the pub. Can I make a more boring list?"
The question then shifted to whether The Black Dog in London's Vauxhall was his favorite bar. The 'Kinds of Kindness' actor denied ever visiting the bar that Swift mentioned in her most recent album, 'The Tortured Poets Department'.

Alwyn remarked, "I’ve never been to Vauxhall." According to the publication, Alwyn was "smiling a smile that hints that there is more to say" when he responded.
According to fans, some songs on Swift's most recent album, 'The Tortured Poets Department', are said to have been inspired by her six-year partner Alwyn.
However, Swifties have linked 'The Black Dog' to another former suitor of Swift's, Matty Healy. The musicians briefly dated for a few weeks in 2023.
Swift makes reference to someone she sees walking inside The Black Dog pub in the song.
Swift's 'Black Dog' song lyrics read: "I am someone who until recent events / You shared your secrets with / And your location, you forgot to turn it off. And so I watch as you walk / Into some bar called The Black Dog / And pierce new holes in my heart."
Swift keeps singing: "I just don't understand how you don't miss me / In The Black Dog, when someone plays The Starting Line."
Swifties disagree with Joe Alwyn claiming that he never visited London pub
Social media users, especially Swifties, took to X (formerly Twitter) to troll Alwyn for "lying," as one wrote, "Well he isn't the only one from Britain that Taylor has dated."
Another user wrote, "Pssttttt…I have a secret for you. He’s lying. Also who cares if it was that particular bar. It could’ve been ANY bar and he’s trying to hang his hat on a technicality? Pathetic."
"It was obvious the pub owner lied about him going there for clout," remarked a user.
Another commented, "ENOUGH, why are you doing this....Joe is still looking for acting roles STILL using her name, they broke up 1 1/2 years ago Let this woman be happy w Travis If Joe was a gentleman he would have stayed quiet, if he truly loved her he wouldnt have blew it after 6 years."
"He talks MORE about Taylor Swift after the break up than during their relationship. That's a red flag," noted one user.
