AUSTIN, TEXAS: Podcast host Joe Rogan has once again courted controversy with a tongue-in-the-cheek remark about the future of MSNBC after Elon Musk's proposed acquisition of the network.

On X (formerly Twitter), Rogan targeted MSNBC's lead anchor Rachel Maddow, humorously proposing that he would like to assume her position if Musk's acquisition is successful.

Donald Trump Jr sparks discussion with proposal for Elon Musk to buy MSNBC

The exchange occurred when Donald Trump Jr humorously proposed that Tesla CEO Elon Musk should purchase the progressive network MSNBC, dubbing it the "funniest idea".

Trump Jr reposted a tweet from Wall Street Mav on X, which incorrectly claimed that Comcast had put MSNBC up for sale on November 12. The tweet read, "Hey @elonmusk I have the funniest idea ever!!!"

Musk entered the conversation, inquiring, "How much does it cost?"—echoing his tweet from 2017 where he posed the same question regarding the purchase of Twitter (now X), a platform he acquired five years later for $44 billion.

Rogan, known for his candid and often contentious views on everything from politics to popular culture, joined the conversation with his characteristic wit.

In response to Musk's proposal to purchase MSNBC, Rogan, with a humorous glint in his eye for Maddow's position, quipped, “If you buy MSNBC, I would like Rachel Maddow’s job. I will wear the same outfit and glasses, and I will tell the same lies.”

To this Musk replied, "Deal."

Currently, there has been no comment from MSNBC or Maddow regarding Rogan's statements. It is yet to be determined if Musk's proposal will result in substantial changes at the network.

Internet has a good laugh over Joe Rogan’s joke on Rachel Maddow’s job

The internet quickly rallied behind Joe Rogan’s playful comment about taking Rachel Maddow’s job at MSNBC, with users sharing a mix of humorous and supportive reactions.

A user wrote, "You’re hired Joe."

Another added, "Yall are gonna give Rachel a heartattack."

The third commentator suggested, "No, you should co-host with her. It would be way more funny to watch you antagonize her."

"We all know Joe Rogan can’t lie like Maddow does, he’s got too much respect for himself," a fan of Rogan wrote.

A person claimed, "THIS IS THE MOST ENTERTAINING OPTION."

Another chimed in, "For one episode you need to wear the same size pant suit blazer."
