John Cena opens up about feud between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel, Internet says 'get along for fans'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: John Cena offers his perspective on the enduring rivalry between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel.
The actor from 'Trainwreck' appeared on Dax Shepard's 'Armchair Expert' podcast on April 8.
John Cena feels feud between Diesel and Johnson is inevitable
When discussing their conflict, John Cena acknowledged that it all began when Johnson joined the 'Fast' franchise starting in 2011's 'Fast Five.'
"There's certainly rumors about that. I can't deny that. You have two very alpha, driven people," John Cena said. "You get two, there can only be one."
Between 2011 and 2019, Johnson starred in five films in the franchise as Luke Hobbs. Initially portraying an antagonist to Diesel's character, Dom Toretto, their dynamic shifted as the series progressed, leading them to eventually team up in subsequent movies.
In 2021, 'The Scorpion King' announced his departure from the 'Fast & Furious' franchise. Nonetheless, he did agree to make a cameo appearance in 'Fast X' the previous year.
Cena, who himself appeared in the franchise's ninth installment in 2021, discussed the working atmosphere on set.
"I'm being invited into someone's home, into someone's family. And regardless of how they look physically in comparison to another human being, this is one IP that has had nine installments and it's an action movie — that's rarefied air," the star said.
"At the very least, there has to be respect for that."
