LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A lengthy letter shared by the Jonas Brothers on social media on Wednesday, February 12, momentarily sparked panic among fans as many thought they were announcing another breakup.

The letter, shared on X (formerly Twitter) began, "As a family, we have been reflecting a lot lately. It's been 20 years since we started this journey together."

The letter continued, "To us, it feels like just yesterday we were loading up our family mini-can with a couple of guitars and copies of It's About Rime CDs, en route to an afternoon performance at a local mall to play for anyone who would listen."

"We were chasing our dream to play music and connect with others in a deep way that only music can provide. We were teenagers then... actually, Nick wasn't even old enough to get into a PG-13 movie," it added.

The post was a tribute to their 20-year journey as a band and they mentioned in the statement that 2025 will be a year of music. "New Jonas Brothers music. Solo music, A live concert album, and a soundtrack," it added.

The Jonas Brothers also thanked their fans for their support throughout these years, writing, "It's seemingly impossible to put our appreciation into words. None of this would have been possible without you. You've shown up for us. Rooted for us. Encouraged us. And inspired us."

They also confirmed that they were almost done with their "holiday movie" and that fans should "expect a lot more announcements over the coming days and weeks."

In 2013, the Jonas Brothers announced that they were splitting up due to creative differences and personal tensions. Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas went on to pursue solo careers and business projects, according to NPR.

They reunited in 2019 after a six-year hiatus, releasing their comeback album, 'Happiness Begins', in June of that year. The brothers followed it up with an international tour that ran from August 2019 to February 2020.

Their last project, 'The Album', which was recorded in 2022 and released in 2023, reached the third spot on the Billboard 200 in its debut week.

Fans demand 'trigger warning' as Jonas Brothers post lengthy letter celebrating their 20th anniversary

Jonas Brothers' fans demanded "trigger warnings" or "anti-trigger warnings" for such lengthy posts as they're still recovering from the band's 2013 breakup.

One wrote, "My heart sank when I started reading omg. Trigger warning please! I love you guys can't wait to spend 2025 with you all," while another added, "Please start posting announcements with an anti-trigger warning: 'not a breakup announcement.'"

"I am so thankful for you guys and your music. I can't wait to see and hear about everything you have planned for this year," a person noted, with another saying, "I thought they were breaking up."

"I’d appreciate you guys not making my heart completely STOP next time… but I’m so down for what this year will bring !!! So happy to be on this journey for as long as I can remember," another comment read.

Another fan shared, "Ever since you guys announced you were breaking up on my 19th birthday in 2013, any time you post only text I have a small heart attack. This time was no exception, so thank you for not making me have to relive that today."

"Ok guys this is so cute but my heart skipped a beat we have trauma from a certain year!! Love you so much, the soundtrack to our lives growing up with you guys has been so special and continues to be so special," wrote yet another admirer.
