WASHINGTON, DC: Jonathan Majors revealed on Wednesday, July 31, that he is 'heartbroken' after Marvel Studios replaced his Kang the Conqueror with Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom for the upcoming 'Avengers' film.

Marvel Studios announced on Saturday, July 27, at San Diego Comic-Con that Robert Downey Jr will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villain Doctor Doom

Jonathan Majors says he is 'heartbroken' over Doctor Doom replacing his Kang the Conqueror

During an interview with TMZ, Jonathan Majors said, "Heartbroken. Yeah, come on. I love him. I love Kang. Doctor Doom is wicked though."

Majors was found guilty in December 2023 of two misdemeanor counts of harassing and assaulting his former girlfriend. Majors "still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name," according to his attorney. On the same day, Marvel released him, according to the Guardian.

The TMZ reporter asked him if he felt it was unfair for him to not get the same opportunity as Robert Downey Jr, who was also arrested in the past after being found guilty of possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle with a prior conviction and driving under the influence and use of a controlled substance.

Majors said, "I think it's fair that Mr Downey has been greeted with patience, curiosity, and love and being allowed to work their art and be creative at that level."

He replied 'Hell, Yeah' when the reporter asked him if he would love to have his role as Kang the Conqueror back. "That's what I said, I love him. I love Kang. If that's what Marvel wants, if that's what fans want, we just roll. Hell yeah."

Robert Downey Jr posted a picture on Instagram of himself holding the Doctor Doom mask as the caption read 'New mask, same task.'
