LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Josh Brolin recalled a heated moment with legendary actor Denzel Washington while filming that almost turned violent.

Josh Brolin recalls heated moment with Denzel Washington
In a recent interview with Graham Bensinger, Josh Brolin revealed that Denzel Washington was late to set one day and then wanted to modify the way that they approached a scene.
According to Deadline, Brolin recalled, "He said, 'I think I’m gonna put this down here and I’m gonna put that up there.' But he wouldn’t really look at me."
He continued, "It wasn’t that many lines, mostly mine. And I’m supposed to be super confident. It’s Denzel Washington, man. It’s not easy. You’re just this actor who they’re trying out, seeing if he’s the real thing or not."
The 'OldBoy' actor added, "And I forgot a line. And I put my hand on his shoulder and I said, ‘What’s the line?’ and he hit my hand off and he said, ‘Don’t ever f**king put your hand on me.’ And I was like, ‘Holy s**t, I’m gonna scrap with Denzel Washington. This is crazy.’ We’re not actors anymore, at least in my mind. In his mind, he was just doing his job."
However, Brolin also said during the interview, "Denzel and I, by the way, get along very well now."
Brolin added he later understood that Washington was simply focused on his character. He said, “He (Denzel) was that guy. He was Frank Lucas, period. But I didn’t know. And then we got through that moment. I said, 'Are you OK?' He said, 'Yeah. You?' I said, 'Yeah. Can I get my line?' He said, 'Go for it.' It’s like he’d said what he needed to say.”
Josh Brolin threatens to quit acting after Oscar snub
Josh Brolin has threatened to quit acting if 'Dune: Part 2' director Denis Villeneuve does not get nominated for an Oscar. He was snubbed by the Academy for the Best Director award for the first installment of the franchise in 2021.
Brolin told Variety in an interview published on Thursday, November 21, "If he doesn’t get nominated this year, I’ll quit acting. It was a better movie than the first one. When I watched it, it felt like my brain was broken open. It’s masterful, and Denis is one of our master filmmakers. If the Academy Awards have any meaning whatsoever, they’ll recognize him."
Brolin will appear in the third installment of 'Knives Out' which is titled 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery' in 2025. He was a fan of the first two films in the franchise before landing a role in the Rian Johnson-directed sequel, as per Closer Weekly.
He said at a New York Comic Con in October, "I loved the acting in both of them. I preferred the first one, and the third one felt more like the first one."
He added, "[Rian] doesn’t come off as this, but he has this incredible control over his set. You know, he just has a major presence that reminds me of Denis, that reminds me of the Cohens, that reminds me of those types of directors. And he’s a great writer."
