WASHINGTON, DC: On Thursday, Feb 13’s edition of ABC’s 'The View', host Joy Behar drew headlines by saying Pam Bondi could be “looking at some prison time” as fallout from her highly scrutinized testimony before Congress over the Department of Justice’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein file release.

Behar’s remarks come amid widespread criticism from Democrats and liberal commentators who say Bondi’s performance lacked empathy and accountability.

Joy Behar claims Pam Bondi lacks empathy

Behar said Bondi’s combative stance with lawmakers and refusal to directly address DOJ concerns, including inadequate protection of victim privacy, could have lasting consequences for the attorney general.

Behar said, “I felt like when I was watching it, I felt a little nauseous from her. I was like, why are you so lacking in empathy? What is wrong with you? What happened to you in your life that you can’t give a moment to these poor girls?”

She continued, “By the way, she needs to understand that she is speaking to Trump when she’s up there, she’s not speaking to anyone else. He has a whole reputation for throwing everyone under the bus. And when he’s out of office, he really is going to throw you under the bus, Honey.”

She added, “I don’t know how you know her, but she should be smart enough to know that. He does it to everybody.”

Pam Bondi’s stance at testimony sparks outrage

Behar sounded fed up with the way Bondi backed the Justice Department at the House Judiciary Committee hearing earlier in the week.

People on the left especially called Bondi out for downplaying how serious the problems were and showing no real empathy for Epstein’s survivors, who were right there in the room.

Some said she appeared cold at best, brushing everyone off, and at worst, she was openly disrespectful.

Behar added, “And by the way, you know, just a little history, during the Watergate scandal, President Nixon did not go to jail, but John Mitchell did. John Mitchell was his Attorney General.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin said, “Yes, correct.”

Behar said, “So at the end of the day, Ms Bondi, you’re looking at some prison time.”

Hostinn added, “She could be held to account.”

Ana Navarro also added to the criticism of Bondi, saying, "I've known Pam Bondi for many years. This was so personally disgusting and disappointing to me. I knew her in Florida as somebody who worked with everybody and who was nice."

"Watching her and this performance as like a high school version of Lady Macbeth, it was just unacceptable and a show she's putting on for Trump," she said.
