NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: During the Tuesday, June 18 episode of 'The View', co-host Joy Behar told guest Rachel Maddow that she was worried about Donald Trump taking the ABC talk show, and Maddow's show on MSNBC, off the air if he managed to regain the White House following the general election in November.

They were accompanied by co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin at the Hot Topics table when Behar voiced her concern, which echoed those recently shared by Maddow in a recent interview.

Joy Behar and Rachel Maddow's concerns surrounding Donald Trump

"So you said recently that you thought that you, as an outspoken critic, could be a target yourself. Some people think that sounds overdramatic, but I’m right there with you," Behar told Maddow on Tuesday.

"I think that he is so vindictive that he will go after, however, he has to, through the IRS maybe, or even through sponsors, to get us off the air maybe, or you. How seriously should we be taking that?" she asked.

In response, Maddow shared that she was more worried about what the presumptive GOP nominee could do to everyone else in the United States if he manages to win the upcoming election than she is about what he might do to her.

"I think it’s bad to have somebody saying, ‘Give me as much power as you can in this country so I can use it to go after other Americans, so I can use it to go after these subhuman internal enemies and I will destroy them.’ That’s just not a good system for anybody, and I don’t think anybody is safe if that’s the sort of basis on which he wants to get more power," she said.

Maddow claimed that she, Behar, and others who were similarly well-known were likely to be less affected owing to their "resources."

"But I think there’s a pattern where he picks out individual people and effectively terrorizes them," she added.

MAGA trolls call out Behar and Maddow

Reacting to the takes of the co-host and the guest on 'The View', a user wrote on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), "Another great reason to vote for President Trump."

"@JoyBehar that would be a blessing to get you off the air," commented another.

"Aren't they both working hard to do that themselves?" inquired a third.

"I was already going to vote for the guy, you don't have to keep selling me!" quipped a fourth user.

"Their shows will get cancelled by their own networks due to lack of viewership and will blame Trump for it," claimed a fifth.
