NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former MSNBC firebrand Joy Reid has chimed in on the debate about biological men in women’s locker rooms.

On an episode of her 'Reid This Reid That' podcast with journalist Jacque Reid, Joy admitted she would personally “freak out” if she saw a naked man in the women’s facilities.

The conversation kicked off when the two Reids dug into a “situation at a Gold’s Gym involving a Black woman and a transgender woman. Jacque explained that the Black woman, identified as Tish Hyman, had been “kicked out of the gym” after she confronted a biological male strolling into the women’s locker room.

Joy Reid admits she would 'freak out' in such a situation

Joy Reid revealed that back when she worked at MSNBC, she developed her own strategy around gym changing rooms. “I would always change in, like, a private room because I’m like, I’m not trying to change in front of people like that,” she said. “I don’t need people to see me naked and then see me in the hallway later.”

However, that didn't help sometimes.

“But, then, I would come out of my little private dressing room, and there would be women walking around — I’m talking about women — women walking around with their b*****s danglin’, swinging in the breeze, and it’s not even like perky b*****s, just b*****s drooping to their knees," she recounted. "They kicking their b*****s down the street, and they want to walk up and have a conversation with you. And, I’m like, ‘Don’t walk up to me with no clothes on and talk to me. I don’t want to talk to you.’”

According to Reid, she was “alarmed enough” by “dangling b*****s."

“If I saw a p***s in the ladies’ locker room, I would freak out,” she admitted, adding, “I would be disturbed … I would be alarmed. I’m alarmed enough when I see a woman with her dangling b*****s. If I saw a p***s in the ladies’ locker room, I would freak out, too … This is nothing against trans anybody.”

“What it’s saying is if I turn around and I see a pee pee, a p***s in front of me inside of the room, I would probably go to management and say, ‘Wait a minute. Why is there somebody — a naked man — in this room?’”

The Gold’s Gym altercation

The conversation circled back to Hyman’s now-viral locker-room episode. She shared a video of the biological male dressed in black, confronting him for entering the women’s locker room while gym employees hovered around the chaos.

Hyman said the behavior wasn’t new, accusing the gym of ignoring warnings from her and others. “Multiple women and I have repeatedly made written reports on this man for coming into our women’s locker room harassing us, and the gym staff has done absolutely nothing!!” she wrote. “He has disrespected me multiple times, and I’ve only been ignored when I quietly reported it.”

“But today I made noise!! Today as I walked into the locker room he came in behind me and called me a b**ch in a deep angry voice. I was TERRIFIED. I RAN OUT INTO THE GYM SCREAMING THERE IS A MAN IN THE REST ROOM!! I called for help and men in the gym got involved, THANK GOD and the staff finally decided to act,” she added. “That’s when they removed him — but then they turned around and terminated my membership too, as if I was being punished for speaking up.”
