LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK: Justin Timberlake’s judge in the DWI case lamented prosecution during a heated court hearing.

On Friday, August 9, Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace said the prosecution came "unprepared" in the case related to the ‘Mirrors’ crooner’s June arrest.

Why did the judge scold prosecution during Justin Timberlake’s DWI hearing?

During the hearing, it was found that there was a subpoena out to the American Hotel, where Justin Timberlake was hanging out before his June arrest. Moreover it is "complying" with the case, and Justice Carl Irace expected the prosecution to be further along in the discovery process, per People.

The 43-year-old wasn’t present on Friday, since he is on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.

After the hearing, multiple Grammys award winner’s attorney Edward Burke Jr, said, “No comment today," and that it was "strictly" a "very procedural day."

The next hearing is scheduled for September 13, and won’t require Timberlake to be physically present.

Presently, Timberlake's driver's license and authorization to drive in New York have been formally revoked by Justice Irace, reported Fox News

The singer was taken into custody on June 18, at approximately 12.15 am in Sag Harbor, Long Island, New York.

After being stopped for failing to stop at a stop sign and losing control of his vehicle, he "performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests," per the outlet.

He had "bloodshot and glossy eyes," was "unable to divide his attention" and had a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage ... emanating from his breath." He was "unsteady afoot" and exhibited "slow speech," the arresting officer wrote.

Justin Timberlake's attorney previously said the singer's arrest was erroneous

During July 26 appearance, Justin Timberlake's attorney Edward Burke Jr said, "The most important fact to know about this case is that Justin was not intoxicated and should not have been arrested for DWI."

He added that "the police made a number of very significant errors in this case," and during the hearing, a "district attorney [tried] to fix one of those errors."

Burke then emphasized that Timberlake "respects law enforcement and the very important job that they do."

"He cooperated with the police officers at all times and treated them with the respect they deserve," he added.

"He also respects the entire judicial process, including the District Attorney and Judge who were in court today. But the fact remains, he was not intoxicated, and they made an error in arresting him for it. We are confident that this charge will be dismissed," the attorney told the court.
