MOON TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA: While on the campaign trail in Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 18, Kamala Harris responded to reporters' questions for the first time since taking over for Joe Biden.

Recently, former President Donald Trump criticized Harris for not taking questions from reporters or holding a press conference since she announced her presidential bid after Biden left the race.

Kamala Harris acknowledged herself as the 'underdog'

While campaigning at a bus stop on Sunday, August 18, just a day before the DNC convention, Kamala Harris addressed several questions, including whether she considers her campaign to be the underdog in the race against Trump, Mediaite reported.

Polls show that Harris has closed the gap with Trump and is now leading in several key swing states.

A reporter questioned Harris, "Madam vice president, CBS News has a new poll showing that you’re up three points nationally. What’s your response to this? Do you consider yourself the underdog here?"

To this Harris replied, "I very much consider us the underdog. We have a lot of work to do to earn the vote of the American people."

She added, "That’s why we’re on this bus tour today, and we’re going to be traveling this country as we’ve been and talking with folks, listening to folks, and hopefully earning their votes over the next 79 days."

Internet dubs Kamala Harris as 'humble'

As soon as the video of Kamala Harris' remark surfaced on social media, users began reacting to it.

A user said, "Making a humble statement, something you’ll never hear from the other candidate."

Another user added, "She’s so humble."

A commentator stated, "Agreed. When we feel like we're in the lead, we can get complacent. We can't afford complacency in this race. Not with what's staring us in the face if we lose."

A supporter remarked, "Run as an underdog. And win like the Big Dogs."

"So humble; so mindful; so demure!!!" An admirer wrote.

Another chimed in, "YES! KEEP SAYING THIS UNTIL THE END! Hilary lost to 'we have this in the bag' complacency! Do not take this for granted! Stay engaged, stay hopeful, but until the win itself STAY MOTIVATIONALLY TERRIFIED!" [sic]
