She arrived in Philadelphia to a standing ovation. During a question-and-answer session, Harris subtly referenced Trump: "This man is just squandering our reputation, left, right, and center."

Harris’ playful jab went viral, with reactions ranging from amusement to criticism.

"That’s the mark of a president. Waking up an escalator. Oh wait. That’s what Trump did," another user shares.

Another one shares, "Melania already did it."

Someone else shares, "Ok she can yap and cackle, what does she offer our country? She had four years and did squat."

“Trump did walk up,” one user noted, short and sharp.

Harris criticizes Trump’s leadership and false hopes

During the hour-long event, Harris also discussed serious issues, including the 2024 election. "A sitting president running for re-election against a former president … and the sitting vice president suddenly stepping up to take the former’s place," she said.

She initially avoided naming Trump, referring to him as “this guy who’s in the White House,” drawing boos. Later, she directly said, “He lied. He lied,” criticizing broken promises to his supporters.

Harris also addressed economic concerns, including price increases, unemployment, and inflation, urging the audience to pay attention to political rhetoric. She said, “The real measure of the strength of the leader is based on who you lift up.”

Harris will conclude her book tour on Thursday, November 20, at the Ziff Opera House with Books & Books in Miami.
