LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Andy Reid, the head coach of Kansas City Chiefs, has dismissed the rumors of his retirement after leading his team to their second consecutive Super Bowl title.

The Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in a nail-biting overtime game in Las Vegas on Sunday night, February 11, becoming the first team to repeat as Super Bowl champions since the New England Patriots in 2005.

Reid then joked: “I keep asking myself, why didn’t [Bill] Belichick and Pete [Carroll] retire? Ask those old guys the question! I’m the old guy now, so I guess I’m gonna be asked it."

"But I really haven’t gone there, I haven’t really thought about it,” he added.

Belichick, 71, and Carroll, 72, are the oldest coaches in the NFL and have also won multiple Super Bowls with the Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks respectively.

Andy Reid and Travis Kelce hug it out after a heated exchange

Andy Reid also addressed the viral incident that occurred during the game when star tight end Travis Kelce pushed him and yelled at him for taking him out of a play.

The confrontation sparked a lot of speculation on social media as some fans wondered if Kelce had crossed a line with his coach.

Amdy Reid said he had no hard feelings towards Kelce who he described as a "competitive and passionate player."

“He came over and gave me a hug. He just wants to be on the field and he wants to play. There’s nobody I get better than I get him. He’s a competitive kid, and he loves to play. He makes me feel young,” Reid told ESPN.

Reid added that Kelce apologized to him after the game, saying, “Sorry about that.”

Travis Kelce’s profanity-laced rant revealed by lip readers

Meanwhile, Daily Mail reported on what Kelce said to Reid during their heated exchange after lip readers decoded their conversation.

According to the report, Kelce shouted: “Keep me in. You f*****! I’m calm now!”

Travis Kelce, who had a stellar performance in the Super Bowl with 10 catches for 133 yards and a touchdown, was apparently frustrated by Reid’s decision to substitute him for another player.

Kelce later explained in the post-game interview that he was just trying to express his emotions and that he had the utmost respect for Reid.

"I got the greatest coach this game has ever seen," he said.

"He's one of the best leaders of men I've ever seen in my life. He's helped me a lot with that—with channeling that emotion, channeling that passion," Kelce said of Reid.

He didn't reveal what he had told coach Read saying, "I'm going to keep it between us unless my mic'd up tells the world," he told ESPN, "but I was just telling him how much I love him," he joked.
