Kanye West blasted for criticizing Kim Kardashian's attire years before Bianca Censori's bold Grammys act

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: While Kanye West dressed his wife Bianca Censori in an entirely sheer dress for the 2025 Grammys, he shamed his ex-wife Kim Kardashian for dressing "too sexy" six years ago.

The rapper and fashion mogul, known as Ye, has been called a hypocrite for urging his wife Censori to wear provocative clothing following his earlier pleas to his ex-wife Kardashian to cover up.

A video of Kanye West telling Kim Kardashian that it "hurt" his soul when she wore skimpy clothing was revived on social media—sparking controversy after Bianca Censori, 30, exposed herself in a sheer dress at the 2025 Grammys on Sunday, February 2.

Kardashian revealed in a confessional how anxious she was to walk the renowned steps on fashion's greatest night after trying on her waist-cinching, "dripping wet," couture dress by Thierry Mugler.

The reality star was overcome with "anxiety" when her husband made last-minute comments about her appearance after she had spent eight months honing her Thierry Mugler outfit for the 2019 Met Gala.

West made it obvious in the 2019 episode that he did not approve of his ex-wife's custom-made, nude-colored corset, which was meant to make her appear to be dripping wet.

The rapper scowled at Kardashian's dress style as he observed the ensemble and said it did not align with his own transition from single to married.

"Like the corset, underwear, all of that vibe, I just feel like I just went through the transition where, from being a rapper, like, looking at all these girls, looking at my wife, like, 'Oh, my girl needs to be just like the other girls showing her body off, showing this, showing that'," West told his ex-wife Kardashian at the time.

He further added, "I didn’t realize that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone that’s married and [in] love and the father of now, about to be, four kids."

During that time, West and Kardashian were only a few days away from welcoming their fourth child, Psalm, through a surrogate, per Daily Mail.

The rapper continued by calling her corset "a form of underwear" and describing it as "hot." "It’s hot for who, though?" West enquired.

Kardashian became defensive over her outfit in response to West's rejection. "So the night before the Met, you're gonna come in here and say that you're not into a corset bust?" she inquired.

Kardashian became enraged and said West was causing her "really bad anxiety." The SKIMS founder stressed, "What are you talking about?"

"I don't need any more negative energy for you to now say that you're not into me in a tight dress," she added.

As if unaware of Kardashian's emotions, West asked her why his remarks were making her anxious. "You are my wife, and it affects me when pictures are too sexy," West remarked.

Kardashian quickly discredited West by claiming that he was the one who "built [her] up to be this sexy person and [have] confidence."

"Just because you’re on your journey and your transformation, doesn’t mean that I’m in the same spot with you," Kardashian added, referring to West's spiritual awakening.

West stormed out of the room, withdrawing himself from the conversation. "Ok, alright. Cool," the rapper responded as he stepped out.

Censori was spotted wearing a big fur coat, which she took off at her husband's order to show off her bare body, which was only hidden by a sheer minidress made of stocking material.

While photographers took their pictures, West, who was still fully dressed, stood behind her and kept a careful eye on her.

According to a Page Six source, the two were later hauled out of the event by police, but another insider claimed they left voluntarily. However, West arrived after receiving a nomination for best rap song.

One user commented on Instagram, "That wasn’t love, that was him trying to control her and he couldn’t, but Bianca he can."

A user added, "He scares me! So happy Kim got away from him. Bianca needs to run not walk."
