Kim Kardashian reflects on 'sad part of motherhood' as Kanye West is barely around to help raise children
HIDDEN HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian reflected on the "sad part about motherhood" in an emotional Instagram Story.
On Saturday, November 9, the SKIMS founder shared a poignant quote, which read, "The sad part about motherhood is that you’re raising the one person you can't live without… to be able to live without you." She accompanied the post with a teary-eyed emoji.
Kardashian shares four children, North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5, with her ex-husband, Kanye West.
The post comes just two weeks after reports surfaced claiming that the rapper has not been present much in their children’s lives, as per People.
Kim Kardashian raises four children on her own as Kanye West remains largely absent
A source close to Kim Kardashian revealed that she is "pretty much a single mom" since Kanye West is "sadly not around very much" to help with the children.
They added, "Although she has help, it’s still a lot of work for her to balance and coordinate everything."
The tipster added, "Kim's life is around her kids' schedules. When they are in school, she works. When they are off, she's very much focused on being a mom." They noted that the reality TV star "is not even dating anyone now. It's all about work and the kids."
Kardashian's last known relationship was with Pete Davidson, which ended in August 2022.
Kim Kardashian gets candid on parenting struggles
Kim Kardashian opened up on the challenges of motherhood during an appearance on Jay Shetty’s 'On Purpose' podcast in May 2023, as per People.
She admitted that she often cries herself to sleep despite having nannies and a chef to assist with daily tasks.
"There are nights I cry myself to sleep. Like, holy s**t, this f**king tornado in my house. Like, what just happened?" said Kardashian.
She added, "Obviously, having nannies and a chef to help cook is beyond helpful … But at the end of the day, your kids only want you."

The mother of four explained that her children’s struggles aren’t eased by the amount of help she has, saying, "The struggles that my kids go through really have nothing to do with the amount of help that I have."
She expressed that "parenting is really f***ing hard," before adding, "It is the most rewarding job in the entire world. It is. There is nothing that can prepare you. ... I don't care how long you wait. I don't care what you're waiting for. You are never prepared."
"But, you will figure it out, and it will make you so proud of yourself that you figured it out and that you got through the day," noted Kardashian.
Kardashian, who tied the knot with West in Florence, Italy in May 2014, filed for divorce in February 2021. It was finalized in November 2022.
As part of their settlement, they agreed to share joint custody of their children with "equal access."
The rapper reportedly agreed to pay Kardashian $200,000 monthly in child support and half of the children’s educational and security expenses.
West and Kardashian, who were declared legally single in March 2022, also agreed to attend mediation for child-related disputes.
