WASHINGTON, DC: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made public a copy of her response to DOGE's email requesting a list of tasks she had accomplished in the past week, Unilad reported on Wednesday, February 26.

The initial email from the Department of Government Efficiency headed by tech billionaire Elon Musk was sent to all federal employees on Saturday, February 22. It demanded an outline of five tasks they had completed that week and warned that their non-response would result in termination. The backlash was severe, with the employees being given a deadline of 11.59 pm on Monday, February 24.

However, Musk backed the move on the social media platform X, writing, "Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation."

Karoline Leavitt's response to DOGE email

Karoline Leavitt, the youngest person ever to become White House Press Secretary, happily responded to the DOGE email, and a copy of her response was posted on social media.

She confirmed the day after the deadline that her response was submitted to the White House Deputy Chief of Staff, Taylor Budowich.

"Hello, Taylor. In an effort of transparency and accountability, I am pleased to inform you of five tasks that I completed last week, though the list of everything that I completed is much longer. See below," began the mail.

The 27-year-old went on to share five bullet points that included holding a press briefing to mark one month of the Trump Administration, delivering a speech at CPAC, staffing POTUS for CPAC, appearing on Fox News, and participating in "media row in the EEEOB."

"P.S. I am so grateful to have a job and work hard on behalf of the American taxpayers, who fund my salary. This email took me two minutes to draft. Thank you," she wrote in conclusion.

Later in a press conference, Leavitt defended the move by DOGE saying, "I can announce that we’ve had more than one million workers who have chosen to participate in this very simple task of, again, sending five bullet points to your direct supervisor or manager."

"All federal workers should be working at the same pace that President Trump is working and moving," she argued. "We have a country to save, and we want this federal government to be responsive to the needs of the American people who re-elected this president to have historic, massive reform. And that's what the intention of this idea is."
