NEW HAMPSHIRE, UNITED STATES: Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt hit back at an X user who questioned her stance on mail-in voting after she shared a photograph of her completed ballot and a selfie from the voting booth during the November 3 midterm elections.

Leavitt posted that she had voted in her home state of New Hampshire, sharing a picture of herself wearing an “I Voted” sticker. She also uploaded an image of her ballot, prompting an online user to suggest that she had voted by mail.

The exchange quickly drew attention because Leavitt had previously criticised mail-in voting, alleging that the system was vulnerable to fraud.

After Leavitt shared the ballot photograph, an X user questioned her position on mail-in voting, writing: “So mail-in ballots are ok. Great message!!”

The former press secretary rejected the suggestion and clarified that she took the photograph while voting in person.

“This isn't a mail in ballot. I took this picture of my ballot at the voting booth. Get lost!” Leavitt responded.

According to the photograph described in the report, Leavitt's ballot showed votes for three Republican candidates: Kelly Ayotte for governor, John E. Sununu for Senate and Anthony DiLorenzo for the House of Representatives.

Leavitt takes aim at Democrat James Talarico in Texas Senate race

Leavitt on Tuesday also criticised Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico during an appearance on Fox News, accusing him of presenting himself as a moderate to attract voters ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

“This is exactly what the Democrats do in every election cycle,” Leavitt said, describing Democrats as “incredibly disingenuous.”

She also warned that Talarico would govern as a far-left liberal if elected, despite his campaign messaging.

“But when they are elected, God forbid, if Talarico is elected, and we pray that he isn’t after polls close tonight, he will govern as a far left extreme liberal that he truly is,” she said.

Talarico was competing against Republican Ken Paxton for a Texas US Senate seat in one of the closely watched contests of the 2026 midterms. The Democrat's platform included proposals for a public healthcare option, a $15 federal minimum wage and protections for abortion rights.

Leavitt previously accused mail-in voting system of fraud

The online exchange brought renewed attention to Leavitt's earlier remarks about mail-in ballots during her time as White House press secretary.

During a White House press briefing in November 2025, she alleged that fraudulent ballots were being submitted under other people's names and those of undocumented immigrants.

“There is blatant FRAUD with their mail-in voting system,” Leavitt said at the time.

“Fraudulent ballots are being mailed in under the names of other people and illegal aliens! There are countless examples. And we are looking into executive action,” she added.

Her latest post prompted users to question whether her decision to share a ballot photograph matched her earlier criticism of the voting method.

Leavitt stepped down as White House press secretary in August 2026, saying that becoming a mother of two had influenced her decision to leave the demanding position.

She later announced she would join Fox News as a contributor while continuing to work on other projects and remain involved in Republican politics.
