Kate Middleton 'heartbroken' over difficult decision regarding Prince George's future after cancer battle
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Kate Middleton is reportedly feeling "heartbroken" as she and Prince William face a challenging decision concerning their son Prince George's future education.
The couple is debating where to send their eldest child after his time at preparatory school ends, with contrasting preferences creating tension, as reported by Page Six.
Kate Middleton and Prince William torn over Prince George's future schooling
Sources close to the royal family have revealed that Kate Middleton would prefer Prince George to attend a co-educational school in England, allowing him to stay close to his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. This choice reflects her own positive experience at Marlborough College in Wiltshire, where she was able to study alongside her siblings.
However, Prince William, who attended Eton College, has a different vision for their eldest son's future. The prestigious all-boys school, which has a long history with the royal family, holds sentimental value for William.
According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, William is keen for George to follow in his footsteps and enroll at Eton, despite Kate's reservations.
Kate is reportedly "heartbroken" by the idea of George attending Eton, believing it to be too "stuffy" and preferring a more relaxed school environment where her children can grow up together.
"Kate’s preference is for George to be at a co-education school, so he can be with his siblings, which is what Kate experienced at Marlborough with her sister, Pippa, and brother, James," Nicholl shared.
Nevertheless, there is a chance that George may not follow the traditional royal path. "There’s always the possibility of traditions being changed," Nicholl pointed out, referencing the fact that both William and Prince Harry chose not to attend Gordonstoun, the school their father, King Charles III, attended.
She added, "Whatever happens, it’ll be a decision made by William and Kate with George’s best interests factored in."
Prince George and his siblings enjoy a nurturing environment at Lambrook School
Prince George, along with his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, is currently attending Lambrook, a co-educational school in the Berkshire countryside.
The school caters to children aged three to 13 and offers a nurturing environment that helps provide stability for the young royals, especially during difficult times, such as Kate Middleton's recent cancer battle.
According to Nicholl, the sense of normality and routine at Lambrook has been vital for the family. Despite Kate's hospitalization for cancer treatment, George was spotted playing football with his friends, a reassuring sign of how the family has maintained a sense of normalcy during a challenging period.
Lambrook offers an excellent support system, enabling the children to enjoy a relatively low-key, happy childhood, albeit privileged.
