LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Kate Middleton may make an appearance at the King's official birthday celebrations, also known as Trooping the Colour, in June.

Kensington Palace has reportedly confirmed that the Princess of Wales, who is undergoing preventive cancer treatment, will not be attending the Colonel's Review - or the final dress rehearsal for the British monarch’s birthday celebration - on June 8.

A source, however, has not ruled out the chance of the 42-year-old princess making an appearance at the Buckingham Palace balcony following the Trooping the Colour ceremony, per The Mirror

The mother-of-three’s appearance, nevertheless, depends on her doctor’s discretion along with how she is feeling on the particular day to make an appearance alongside her husband, Prince William.

Kate Middleton has been attending Trooping the Colour for long

Middleton, as the colonel-in-chief of the Irish Guards, would have usually taken the salute at The Colonel's Review on June 8.

The Colonel’s Review marks the second event on the list of three events marked for Trooping the Colour. The first of the series - The Major General's Review at Horse Guards Parade - took place on Friday, May 31.

Ever since her marriage to the royal family, Middleton has been a constant presence during the British monarchy’s appearance at the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Not only did the Princess of Wales attend the Trooping the Colour event alongside the late Queen Elizabeth II but also attended the engagement alongside King Charles last year.

Following the celebration, she hopped into a landau-style carriage with Queen Consort Camilla, Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte.

Trooping the Colour marks the official annual birthday celebration of the ruling British monarch. Though King Charles celebrates his actual birthday in November, the upcoming event is an official celebration to honor his birth.

Meanwhile, the King, who is also undergoing treatment for cancer, has confirmed that he will be attending his birthday celebrations.

However, he will not be riding on horseback adhering to the tradition, but rather would travel in an Ascot Landau carriage with Queen Camilla.

Royal expert Kinsey Schofield recently gave an insight into Kate’s return to royal duties after she revealed her cancer diagnosis in a heartbreaking video in March.

Schofield shared in an interview with Fox News Digital on May 30, that Kate is not being rushed to return to royal duties, as the expert said, "King Charles and Prince William have repeatedly stressed to the Princess of Wales that she should feel no pressure to return to public duty until she's ready.”

"The palace won't officially give us any indication of a potential Catherine return," Schofield added.
