LONDON, ENGLAND: Kate Middleton reflected on "difficult times" and emphasized the value of spreading love and kindness in a heartfelt letter to those attending her annual Christmas carol concert next week.

The Princess of Wales' tidy signature at the bottom of her letter was featured in black and white images posted on Instagram on Saturday, November 30, per US Weekly.

Middleton poignantly wrote in the letter that the Christmas story "reflects our own vulnerabilities" as the Princess' difficult year, during which she received cancer treatment, comes to an end.

Kate Middleton shares heartfelt message about 'darkest times' in Christmas letter

Ahead of the joyous televised event at London's Westminster Abbey, the Princess of Wales, 42, who recently declared she was cancer-free after completing chemotherapy, underlined the importance of family and compassion during difficult times.

"A special letter, reflecting on the importance of love, empathy and how much we need one another in the most difficult times," the caption of the Instagram post read.

It also stated that the letter would be given to "each of the guests" at her 'Together at Christmas' carol service on Friday, December 6, as well as the 15 other "Community Carol Services" done across the nation, "thanking those attending for all they do for others."

Middleton expressed her "heartfelt thanks" to everyone who attended her Carol Service, saying, "Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year." The Princess of Wales served over the 'Together at Christmas' carol service for the past four years.

She wrote: "It is a time for celebration and joy, but it also gives us the opportunity to slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all."

"It is when we stop and take ourselves away from the pressures of daily life, that we find the space to live our lives with an open heart, with love, kindness and forgiveness — so much of what the Christmas spirit is all about."

The Princess of Wales continued, adding that Christmas also "encourages us to consider the experiences and feelings of others" and "reflects our own vulnerabilities and reminds us of the importance of giving and receiving empathy, as well as just how much we need each other in spite of our differences."

"Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times. We all have something we can offer one another. Gentle words or a receptive ear, an arm around an exhausted shoulder, or silently being by someone’s side," the letter continued.

The palace confirmed that people from all over the United Kingdom who showed love, kindness, and empathy toward others in their communities will be featured in the holiday service, which takes on a different theme every year, per the New York Post.

The adored princess spent a significant amount of this year in private after undergoing abdominal surgery in January and receiving a cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Prince William confirms wife Kate Middleton will 'be doing a bit more' in 2025

Although Kate Middleton's participation in this year's event was initially doubted due to her health concerns, the palace stated that she wished to honor the multiple individuals helping those in need.

Prince William announced earlier that his wife would "be doing a bit more" in 2025. He also called 2024 the most "dreadful" year of his life because of his wife's illness and the cancer diagnosis that his father, King Charles III, received.

In an interview with The Times, published on November 10, William said, "It’s probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult."
