Kate Middleton reveals plans for future royal duties amid ongoing cancer treatment in rare message
LONDON, ENGLAND: Kate Middleton signaled her intention to continue with royal duties in the future through a rare social media post, despite undergoing cancer treatment.
In a new message posted on The Prince and Princess of Wales' X (formerly Twitter) handle, the 42-year-old wrote a warm welcome note to British TV show host Dwayne Fields, who has recently been appointed as the UK Chief Scout of the Scouts, a youth development organization.
The Princess of Wales was the first woman to become the joint president of a non-profit organization joint president when she assumed the position in 2020, as per Harper's Bazaar. Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, is the other joint president who held the position since 1975.
Delighted to welcome @DwayneFields as the new UK Chief Scout.

"Delighted to welcome @DwayneFields as the new UK Chief Scout," wrote Prince William's wife. "The Scouts is such an incredible organization, teaching #SkillsForLife and making a huge difference to young people across the country," she added.
“Looking forward to working with you! C,” the princess concluded the post, signing off with "C" for Catherine.
Middleton largely remained away from the spotlight and public duties since the start of 2024.
The future Queen consort revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer just two months after undergoing abdominal surgery, leaving British royal family fans shocked.

In a video statement on Instagram, she shared that the disease was in the "early stages" and that she would be undergoing "preventive chemotherapy" as part of her treatment.
"At the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous," Middleton said at the time, adding, "The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present."
However, the Princess of Wales did not disclose the specific type of cancer for which she is receiving treatment.
Kate Middleton's rare public appearances following cancer diagnosis
Since her cancer diagnosis became public, Kate Middleton has largely stepped back from her regular royal duties and has made only a few public appearances. Despite not working in an official capacity, the princess has made two public appearances since March.
In June, Kate Middleton appeared at the Trooping the Colour ceremony for King Charles's official birthday, and in July, she received a standing ovation at the men's Wimbledon final, which she attended with her daughter, Princess Charlotte.
Last month, the princess joined her husband, Prince William, in a video message posted on their joint Instagram account congratulating Team Great Britain's victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
"From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB," Middleton said in the post.
