Katy Perry kisses ground upon return
The all-women crew featured singer Katy Perry, TV host Gayle King, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, former rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sanchez.
After their return, Perry and King both dropped to their knees and kissed the ground in the Texas desert.
Perry described her emotions after the flight, saying she felt “super connected to love.” She said it “is the highest high,” adding, “I couldn’t recommend this experience more.”
The 40-year-old singer spoke about singing Louis Armstrong’s ‘What A Wonderful World’ in space.
“I think that is not about me. It’s not about singing my songs. It’s about a collective energy in there. It’s about us,” Perry said per New York Post.
She mentioned the mission was “all for the benefit of Earth” and shared, “I think this experience has shown me you never know how much love is inside of you, like how much love you have to give and how loved you are until the day you launch.”
Perry also revealed plans to write a new song based on her experience.

Lauren Sanchez breaks down recalling emotional return from space
Lauren Sanchez became emotional while recalling the moment she returned from space.
The 55-year-old journalist said, “I didn’t expect it to be this emotional. But also all the love that was in that capsule. And all the heart and the feelings and all the things."
"And like, seeing Jeff before I left. I just like, I had to come back. I mean, we're getting married. If I didn't come back. I would be, that would be a bummer," she said, referring to her fiance, Jeff Bezos.
She also shared her awe at seeing the Earth and the Moon from space. “I can’t put it into words. We got to see the Moon!” she said. “The Earth looked so quiet. I don’t think you could describe it.”
Internet mocks Katy Perry and Lauren Sanchez's Blue Origin space trip
Scientist Dr Gareth Dorrian from the University of Birmingham told Daily Mail, “Let’s call it what it is and not tell ourselves that it is contributing meaningfully to science or space exploration.”
She added, “I am afraid I do still think these flights are essentially just joyrides for the super-rich.”
Social media reactions to the flight were largely negative. One person wrote on X, “There is no way they did anything important.”
Another criticized media coverage, saying, “They’re not astronauts.... I think real astronauts would be offended at that. They're celebrities sat on their bums.”

A third user said, “Stop insulting the women who spent their whole lives trying to become astronauts by equating six celebrities who paid to go into suborbit as the same.”
.@msnbc @jdbalart 6 Rich people, some of them who I like, got to sub orbit for 10 minutes on a very expensive tour of the inter atmosphere.

One user simply called it “tourism for rich people,” while another labeled it “the most expensive bachelorette party ever.”
