Katy Perry 'palling around' with ex-rival Taylor Swift to revive stalling music career, claim sources
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Katy Perry is essentially trying to get her career back on track by associating with pop sensation Taylor Swift, claim sources.
Per the sources who recently spoke with National Enquirer via RadarOnline, Perry, 39, is desperate to uplift her career following the conclusion of her gig with ‘American Idol’.

The ‘Roar’ singer, who has not had an interesting career graph lately, is reportedly looking forward to riding the coattails of her former rival Taylor Swift, who is comfortably perched at the epitome of her success era.
Katy Perry hoping for a career turnaround via Taylor Swift
Katy Perry is purportedly looking for a turnaround in her career following hit-less years and her reported vote-out as a judge of ‘American Idol’ by fans. In this respect, the source shared that Swift, the 2023 TIME Person of the Year, can help her to bounce back.
Talking to the National Enquirer, the tipster shared, "Katy needs some positivity right now and publicly palling around with Taylor is an instant shot of adrenaline for her image.”
Another insider told the outlet, "Katy is turning into yesterday's news and she knows a shocking new friendship with Taylor could turn all of that around in a heartbeat.”
Perry shocked the world when she was seen in one of Swift’s concert stops in Sydney, Australia, where the ‘Dark Horse’ songstress was seen grooving to music of the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer.
The insider added, "People are saying she's even suggesting they do a song together. That would have Katy singing all the way to the bank!"
Katy Perry and Taylor Swift's feud history
After sharing cordial relationships since 2009, the two pop princesses locked horns for the first time in 2014. Even though Perry appeared on Swift's Fearless Tour in 2014 to perform on 'Hot N Cold', their relationship deteriorated toward the end of the year, per Entertainment Weekly.
During an interview with Rolling Stone, Swift shared that her 'Bad Blood' from the album '1989' was not for any ex-flame, but rather for a female musician. She said in the interview, "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," before adding, "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'"
Claiming the unnamed singer was akin to "straight-up enemies," Swift explained, "And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational—you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So, now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it."
Katy Perry has often acknowledged the feud and said a simple "sorry" from Swift would let her forget the feud. She opened up about the situation for the first time during an appearance on James Corden's 'Late Late Show'. Perry shared, "That's true, there is a situation."
She explained, "Honestly, it's really like she started it and it's time for her to finish it." She further confirmed that the root cause of the feud was background dancers and went on to explain her side of the story.
Perry recalled, "Okay, so there was like three backing dancers that went on tour with her tour, right? And they asked me before they went on tour if they could go, and I was like, 'Yeah, of course. I'm not on a record cycle and get the work, and she's great and all that. But I will be on a record cycle probably in about a year."
"So, be sure to put a 30-day contingency in your contract, so you can get out if you want to join me when I say I'm going back on,'" she continued, before adding, "So that year came up, right? And I texted all of them because I'm very close with them and I said, 'Look, just FYI, I'm about to start. I want to put the word out there.'"
As the dancers responded in affirmative, Perry recalled, "They said, 'Okay, well we're gonna go and talk to management about it.' And they did, and they got fired."
She also claimed that though she has made multiple attempts to talk to Swift, the 'Lover' singer never reciprocated. Perry continued, "But what I want to say is that I'm ready for that BS to be done."
"Now, there is the law of cause and effect. You do something, and there's gonna be a reaction, and trust me, daddy, there's gonna be a reaction. It's all about karma, right?... I think, personally, that women together, not divided, and none of this petty bulls---, women together will heal the world," she added.
As Corden asked, "Would it be enough to just receive a text from Taylor Swift that just said 'the beef is off the grill?'" Perry concluded the segment by replying, "100 percent."
Finally, in 2018, Swift extended an olive branch that concluded the tiff between the two superstars.
Recently, Perry was even seen dancing and singing to Swift's tunes during one of her Sydney concerts.
