Recalling the experience of having Daisy with her while touring, Perry said, “It's always incredible when I get to bring my daughter to work.” She explained that she believes children benefit when they see their parents living authentically and confidently.
“I think when mothers can be their most supported, authentic selves, that is always a good template for children to model. And I'm just glad to model a strong, steady, intelligent, funny, weird woman for my beautiful daughter,” Perry said.
The singer attended the Tribeca Festival premiere of her latest concert film, 'Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour' — Live from Paris, on Monday, June 8.
Perry shares her 5-year-old daughter with former partner, Orlando Bloom. The former couple were recently seen enjoying 'Paddington: The Musical' in London in official photos shared on the show's Instagram account.
In one group picture with the cast, the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star knelt beside his children as his daughter rested her head on his shoulder and his son crouched nearby. The carousel also included photos of Perry and Bloom posing with the star of the show, Paddington.

During the event, Perry participated in a post-screening Q&A session with journalist Tomas Mier, a former PEOPLE staffer. During the conversation, the topic turned to Daisy, prompting her to speak about her daughter's strong personality.
“She’s a force. She tells me exactly what she thinks,” Perry said.
The musician reiterated that she sees parenting as an opportunity to provide an example for children rather than direct their every decision.
“I think, as mothers and fathers, we're just modeling something for our children, and all we can hope for is that they will grow up into better versions of ourselves — and themselves,” she explained.
Perry further emphasized the importance of living authentically for the benefit of her daughter.
“I think if I'm out there living my most authentic, free, supported, empowered, smart, sexy life, and she's going to have a pattern to follow, a model to follow,” she said.
Following its premiere at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York City, 'Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour' — Live from Paris is scheduled to premiere in theaters later this summer.
