Kayleigh McEnany applauds Trump for 'taking the high road' amid bitter feud with Elon Musk

WASHINGTON, DC: As the public fallout between Donald Trump and Elon Musk continues to spiral, former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany is applauding her former boss for, in her words, showing restraint.
On the Friday, June 6, episode of 'Outnumbered', McEnany, now a co-host on the Fox News panel show, argued that Trump has “taken the high road” in the increasingly personal dispute with the tech billionaire.
It’s been almost 24 hours since President Trump and Elon Musk’s bitter feud began but a white flag may be on the horizon.

Kayleigh McEnany hails Donald Trump for focusing on the American people
“President Trump today, he could have roasted Elon Musk. He’s not doing that,” said Kayleigh McEnany during the segment. “He put out five tweets about the economy. He’s focused on the American people.”
The former DOGE head claimed on Thursday in an X (formerly Twitter) post that the real reason the files regarding Jeffrey Epstein haven't been made public is because Trump is in them. Musk later deleted the post.
That’s when Elon Musk blew up the internet with this response:

“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That’s the real reason they haven’t been made public.
Have a nice day, DJT!” pic.twitter.com/Kmrvc9RUKh
Though Trump has refrained from addressing Musk’s accusation that he’s named in Epstein’s files, he did hit back at criticisms regarding the "big, beautiful bill," which the Tesla CEO described as a "disgusting abomination."
I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore.

This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination.
Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.
During an Oval Office press conference, Trump claimed that Musk has “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and said he was "very disappointed" with him over policy disagreements.
"Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore," Trump told reporters.
BREAKING: Trump just said he’s “very disappointed with Elon Musk,” and then implies that Musk has “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

The president later took to his Truth Social platform and threatened to cut off Musk's government subsidies.
"The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon's Governmental Subsidies and Contracts," he wrote.
However, in another post, the president wrote, "I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago. This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress. It’s a Record Cut in Expenses, $1.6 Trillion Dollars, and the Biggest Tax Cut ever given."
"If this Bill doesn’t pass, there will be a 68% Tax Increase, and things far worse than that. I didn’t create this mess, I’m just here to FIX IT. This puts our Country on a Path of Greatness. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" he added.
Donald Trump dismisses Elon Musk fallout with icy five-word remark

Donald Trump brushed aside recent attacks from Elon Musk, downplaying their highly publicized falling-out with a brief but telling response, “Nothing catches me by surprise.”
The comment came during a conversation with the New York Post on Friday, where Trump finally addressed Musk’s explosive criticism of the administration’s flagship spending legislation, the “big, beautiful bill.”
“The numbers are through the roof, the stock market is up, billions are pouring in from tariffs, and my poll numbers are the highest they’ve ever been,” the president said. “Other than that, what can I tell you, right?”
Despite Musk’s recent denial, Trump maintains that the entrepreneur was fully aware of the bill’s contents prior to his exit from the administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
“He knew the bill as well as anybody,” the MAGA leader said, doubling down on the legislation’s benefits. “The bill is great. It’s going to pass, and it’s going to be great for everybody, including him.”
