NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Vice President JD Vance isn’t sure Elon Musk could ever get back into the good graces of Donald Trump after he went "nuclear" on POTUS amid their catastrophic fallout.

The 40-year-old VP was forced to respond to Trump’s fallout with Musk as he sat down to tape a podcast with comedian Theo Von in Nashville on Thursday, June 5, when the former besties traded brutal barbs on social media, CNN reported.

Trump has been locked in a war of words with Musk ever since the Tesla CEO publicly bashed his much hyped "big beautiful bill." Last week, the tech billionaire expressed his disappointment over the legislature, later calling it a "disgusting abomination."

In response, Trump called the tech billionaire "crazy" and threatened to cut his government subsidies and contracts, of which both Tesla and SpaceX have been immense beneficiaries.

Musk later fired back, calling for Trump's impeachment, mocking the POTUS' signature tariffs, and accusing him of having ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

JD Vance claims Elon Musk made a ‘huge mistake’

During his podcast with Theo Von, JD Vance was shown for the first time Elon Musk’s now-deleted post accusing Donald Trump of being in the “Epstein files.”

Vance defended Trump, calling any Epstein-related claims "totally BS."

“First of all, absolutely not. Donald Trump didn’t do anything wrong with Jeffrey Epstein. Like, there’s the guy is, whatever the Democrats and the media say about him, that’s totally BS,” the vice president added.

This came after a source told CNN that Trump and Vance spoke several times throughout Thursday, and the POTUS encouraged his VP to talk diplomatically about Musk when questioned publicly.

However, Vance did claim that the SpaceX boss made a "huge" mistake by attacking Trump.

“Elon is entitled to his opinion,” Vance told Von on the podcast, before adding, “I’m not saying he has to agree with the bill or agree with everything that I’m saying. I just think it’s a huge mistake for the world’s wealthiest man — I think one of the most transformational entrepreneurs ever — to be at war with the world’s most powerful man, who I think is doing more to save the country than anybody in my lifetime.”

“I just think you’ve got to have some respect for him and say, ‘yeah, we don’t have to agree on every issue.’ But is this war actually in the interest of the country? I don’t think so,” he continued.

Vance stated that while he hopes Musk may be welcomed back "into the fold," he is unsure if this is currently feasible.

“I hope that eventually Elon kind of comes back into the fold. Maybe that’s not possible now because he’s gone so nuclear. But I hope it is, man,” he said, according to Mediaite.

At one point, Vance even tried to defend Musk by chalking his outbursts up to him “being new to politics” and frustrations that his “businesses are being attacked non-stop” since he joined the White House.

Vance first expressed his support of the president in an X post on Thursday night. “President Trump has done more than any person in my lifetime to earn the trust of the movement he leads. I’m proud to stand beside him,” he wrote.

Donald Trump threatens Elon Musk with ‘very serious consequences’ if he supports Democrats

Donald Trump is making sure none of his arch enemies can take advantage of his fallout with his former bestie Elon Musk.

On Saturday, the president threatened that Musk would face “very serious consequences” if he starts bankrolling Democratic candidates for office, the New York Post reported.

“If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences for that,” Trump told NBC News’ Kristen Welker in a phone interview. “He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that,” the president added, without providing any further information.

“Is there anything else you just want people to know about the status?” Welker asked. To which, Trump replied, “No, not at all. We’re doing great. The bill is great. It looks like we’re going to get it passed. Looks strongly like we’re going to get it passed.”
