Rashee Rice surrenders to the police in

The Super Bowl-winning wide receiver, surrendered himself to Glenn Heights police after an arrest warrant was issued, NBC News reports. He was then taken to the DeSoto Regional Jail. Rice's lawyer, Royce West, confirmed that Rice has been released on bond.

The incident stems from an event where Rice was part of a group driving a Corvette and a Lamborghini at high speeds along the North Central Expressway in Dallas. The situation escalated when both drivers lost control, resulting in the Lamborghini crashing into a median wall. Instead of checking on those involved in the accident, the occupants of both cars fled the scene, as confirmed by police.

Rice's attorney, West released a statement following Rice'ss surrender in which he said, "I want to re-emphasize Mr Rice’s continued cooperation with law enforcement. Mr Rice acknowledges his actions and feels deeply for those injured as a result of this accident. Our legal team is now tasked with reviewing all legal documents."

Rice and another driver, Theodore Knox, were found to be speeding in their respective vehicles. The arrest warrants were issued for both individuals, accusing them of aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury, and multiple counts of collision. Knox, who faces the same charges as Rice, remains free at the moment.

Dallas police chief Eddie Garcia asserted, "This case was conducted as all cases are conducted, thorough and fair, as that is what all victims deserve, and what our city demands. An investigation has no timeline. We will not be pressured, we will do what is right.”

Additionally, it was reported on April 6 that there were 10.8 grams of marijuana found in the Lamborghini driven by Rice during the crash, a fact acknowledged by his attorney.
