Kelly Clarkson accused of being 'ungrateful' by talk show staff after dispute with HR over fan compliment

ATLANTIC CITY, NEW JERSEY: What doesn’t kill Kelly Clarkson might make her stronger— but it sounds like HR meetings are testing her patience more than they should.
During a recent show at the Etess Arena in Atlantic City, the songstress opened up about the behind-the-scenes tension at 'The Kelly Clarkson Show', especially after dropping 60 pounds and catching flak for simply accepting a compliment.

Kelly Clarkson jokes about HR meeting over fan compliment
After a fan shouted that she looked “sexy,” Kelly Clarkson, 43, got candid about feeling stifled by NBC’s strict HR policies.
“Every time I go to an HR meeting, I’m like, ‘How have I not been fired?’” she joked, before adding, “I grew up on the road at 19 years old, you know what I’m saying? I’m like, ‘Oh, that is inappropriate. I would never.’ But they also say you’re not allowed to say someone looks attractive, and I say f**k that.”
She doubled down on why she believes compliments matter, especially when someone’s put in the work. “Because some of those b**ches are out here working, and we’re trying, and I want every motherf****r that passes me to go, ‘Damn. Well done,’” she told the crowd.
Clarkson said she was called out by HR for complimenting someone on their transformation. “They were like, ‘Well, it might make people feel bad that they looked bad before.’ I was fat before, so I’m saying I want you to say, ‘Damn,’” she said.
Tension brews on Kelly Clarkson's talk show set
While some may consider Kelly Clarkson's rant just playful venting, insiders close to the show didn’t exactly find her comments empowering. In fact, one source claimed her remarks came off as ungrateful toward the staff who have stood by her.
“Kelly Clarkson is ungrateful, and she fails to recognize how her staff uprooted their lives in Los Angeles and left their homes to relocate to New York because they believed in her and they loved working for her,” a source told Daily Mail.
This only adds fuel to the speculation that Clarkson is planning to pull the plug on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' altogether when her contract wraps next year.
She’s already been noticeably absent, missing several episodes back in March for what was brushed off as a “personal matter.”
But since then, whispers of a potential exit have only grown louder.

Kelly Clarkson opens up about the grind
Kelly Clarkson’s beef isn’t just with HR.
During her Atlantic City concert, she also confessed that the daily grind of daytime TV has taken a toll on her music and her personal life.
“It’s like a whole other job,” she told fans, as quoted by Page Six. “We are bummed ‘cause we love doing shows, and it’s hard to fit it in, so it’s cool when it does work out with the schedule.”
As a single mom raising daughter River, 10, and son Remy, 9, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, Clarkson admitted that life’s already a juggling act.
Between the show, mom duties, and her desire to get back on stage, she believes something’s gotta give.
But her candid confessions apparently didn’t sit well with everyone behind the scenes. The same insider claimed Clarkson’s attitude left staffers feeling “abandoned” and “disrespected.”
“For her to abandon her own show and then come out months later and say that she did not agree with the way that HR handled comments she made about weight is incredibly disrespectful,” the source added.
Kelly Clarkson's weight loss confession
Kelly Clarkson’s transformation has been the talk of the town, and she’s finally confirmed what fans long suspected. Last year, Clarkson revealed she’d lost 60 pounds thanks to a weight loss drug, but she clarified it wasn’t what everyone thought.
“Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic, it’s not – it’s something else,” she said, explaining that the medication she’s taking “aids in helping break down the sugar,” because her “body doesn’t do it right.”
She also revealed her doctor had been chasing her for two years to try the drug, but she resisted at first. “I was like, ‘No, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems, I was afraid,’” she shared.
According to a Daily Mail insider, she has gone public now because she felt backed into a corner. “Kelly’s appeal was that she was relatable. She made people laugh, and she made people feel good about themselves,” the source explained.
“She has struggled with weight loss, and it was a big part of her story. But suddenly she loses all her weight in a short period of time, and now it feels like she is focused solely on her image. Kelly has caused heartbreak among staff," they added.
As Clarkson possibly gears up to leave her daytime gig, NBC may already have her replacement in mind. Sources claimed that former 'Today' co-anchor Hoda Kotb is being floated as a potential successor. “There’s a long list of names and Hoda is part of that list,” a source told Page Six.
