LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kelly Clarkson reportedly felt she was “single” and didn’t have a partner during her marriage to Brandon Blackstock.
Four years after the former couple’s public split, a source dished to Page Six that as their marriage progressed, the 42-year-old songstress increasingly started feeling like she was “single” in her relationship.
Clarkson, who tied the knot with Blackstock, 48, in 2013, decided to file for divorce in 2020.
Kelly Clarkson felt ‘single’ during her marriage to Brandon Blackstock
“As time went on in their marriage, Kelly Clarkson didn’t feel like she had a partner,” shared a source, commenting on the ‘American Idol’ winner’s former marriage.
The source added, “Kelly felt single in a lot of ways even while she and Brandon were still married,” before adding that the ‘Stronger’ hitmaker was always present for her children even though her ex-husband wasn’t.
The former couple share daughter, River, 10, and son, Remington, eight.
The singer reportedly “attended school events for the kids by herself when other parents would attend with both the mom and the dad,” shared the source.
They continued, “Kelly was so grateful when she was granted primary custody of her children because they’re her whole world.”
After settling their divorce in 2021, Clarkson, who has now legally changed her name to Kelly Brianne, relocated to New York with her children.
The source dished on her decision to move to the Big Apple, saying, “Kelly has no regrets since moving to New York, she loves her life there and the kids love it too.”
Referring to the success of her ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’, the insider dished, “She’s so grateful her show was renewed for a seventh season and she’s excited for what’s next.”
Kelly Clarkson is currently 'very satisfied with life'
Just a few days before the insider dished on Kelly Clarkson's disintegrating marriage, another insider shared with People that the 'Because Of You' singer is "very satisfied with life" now that she is living in New York with her children.
"Kelly kind of lives in a bubble. She's all about the kids and work. She loves being a mom. Her kids have been clear that they don't want her to date, so she's not," shared the source.
The source added, "She feels very satisfied with life as it is. She knows as the kids get older, dating will be easier. This is not anything she misses at the moment."
