Kelly Clarkson’s children don’t want her to get into new relationship after Brandon Blackstock divorce
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kelly Clarkson’s children are totally against her dating anyone after divorcing Brandon Blackstock. Their divorce was settled in March 2022.
The 42-year-old singer shares two children — daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remington, 8, —- with her ex-husband Blackstock.
Clarkson recently spoke about her life after divorce with 'KOST 103.5'. She said she’s “enjoying being single”, as reported by People.

Kelly Clarkson's children want her to spend all her time with them. She said during the interview that they don’t want her to see with another man.
“They constantly bring it up, 'Please, we don't want you with anybody else,’” she shared.
Understanding their point of view, she added, “They're young, it's hard to picture their mom with someone else other than their dad.”
Clarkson, however, told her children that she loves them “but Mommy needs loving too".

This came after last year, Kelly Clarkson revealed how her divorce from the talent manager affected their children.
She reportedly said on an episode of Angie Martinez's 'IRL' podcast, “I ask my kids every night when we're snuggling and I put them to bed, 'Are you happy? And if you're not, what could make you happier?’”
“Especially the past two years ... it kills me [but] I want them to be honest so I don't ever say, 'Oh God, don't tell me that,' but a lot of times it would be like, 'I'm just really sad. I wish Mommy and Daddy were in the same house.' They're really honest about it,” she mentioned.
The ‘A Moment Like This’ singer further shared that since she’s also from a “divorced family” she understands her children’s emotions.
“That sucks. But we're going to work it out,” the mother-of-two asserted.
Kelly Clarkson calls divorce ‘worst thing ever’
Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock were married from 2013 to 2021. After splitting from him, the former 'American Idol' winner said, as reported by Us Weekly, “I mean, it’s no secret. My life has been a little bit of a dumpster."
“Personally, it’s been a little hard the last couple months. I’ve been talking to friends that have been through divorce,” she stated.
“I don’t know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved,” the 'Catch My Breath' singer added.
Also in September 2020, she told Hoda Kotb that divorce is “hard on everyone”.
“You see yourself growing old with someone and then life has a different path. It’s so hard on everyone, and you know me, I’m really open. I try to be open and share … It’s just a tricky thing to navigate,” the ‘Love So Soft’ artist said.
