This performance will mark Lamar’s return to the spotlight, following a high-profile musical feud with fellow rapper Drake.

This will be Lamar's first time headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show, although he previously performed at the 2022 event as part of an ensemble with Snoop Dogg, Mary J Blige, Eminem, and 50 Cent.

In a promotional video accompanying the announcement, Lamar, standing on a field in front of a giant American flag and launching footballs from a training machine, says, "What you doing everybody? My name's Kendrick Lamar and I'll be performing at Super Bowl LIX, Will you be pulling up? I hope so. You know, there's only one opportunity to win a championship. No round 2's Let's get it."

He added, "I don’t want you to miss it. Meet me in New Orleans, February 9, 2025. Wear your best dress too, even if you’re watching from home. Let’s go," as per Eonline.

Lamar’s latest album, 'Mr Morale & The Big Steppers,' was released in 2022. This year, he also featured on the chart-topping track 'Like That' with Future and Metro Boomin. Reflecting on his upcoming performance, Lamar said, "Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I'll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one."
