WASHINGTON, DC: In a move that captured the attention of the internet, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson has disclosed receiving a lavish gift from pop sensation Beyonce, as reported by The Hill.

The financial disclosure forms, recently made public, reveal that Jackson was gifted multiple free concert tickets valued at a staggering price from the global superstar during her 'Renaissance World Tour' last year.

In 2023, Jackson received four free concert tickets from superstar Beyonce, as detailed in financial disclosure forms released on Friday, June 7. While the forms do not specify the exact concert, Beyonce's Renaissance World Tour was in full swing, including a notable performance near Washington, DC.

Vice President Kamala Harris also attended the Renaissance World Tour and reported receiving concert tickets from Beyonce, valued at $3,312, in her annual disclosure forms. Jackson’s tickets were valued slightly higher, at $3,711.84, making them one of the standout gifts reported by the justices last year.

The financial disclosures of all but one Supreme Court justice were unveiled as part of an annual filing deadline, with Justice Samuel Alito requesting a 90-day extension. Jackson’s openness in her reporting has drawn significant attention, especially in the context of the high-profile gifts and earnings she disclosed.

Justice Jackson, who made history back in 2022 as the first Black female Supreme Court justice, not only received concert tickets but also reported substantial book royalties and other significant gifts.

She earned $893,750 from Penguin Random House, likely an advance for her upcoming memoir, set to be released in September. This amount marks the highest book royalty earnings among her fellow justices.

Additionally, Jackson disclosed receiving $12,500 worth of artwork for her chambers at the Supreme Court Building from two artists and "HU Scholars." Last year, Jackson’s financial disclosure also made headlines for including a $1,200 flower arrangement from Oprah Winfrey and over $6,500 in designer clothing for a magazine photo shoot.

While the financial disclosures of Supreme Court justices have long been a routine affair, recent years have seen heightened scrutiny and criticism surrounding ethical standards, particularly directed at Justice Clarence Thomas.

Thomas' financial disclosure contained a revision to a report he submitted five years prior, disclosing two trips funded by billionaire Harlan Crow.
