LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hollywood icon Kevin Costner would not mind beginning a romance, but he "has some rules" about who he picks to be the next important lady in his life, a source claimed.

According to reports, the 'Yellowstone' star is searching for his next lady love, months after his tumultuous divorce from ex-wife Christine Baumgartner.

Although Costner, 69, is setting acceptable boundaries for himself, there is one thing that he will not compromise on, which is directly related to his divorce from Baumgartner.

According to a Life and Style source, Kevin Costner seems to have very liberal dating rules. However, Costner is determined to make every effort this time to prevent his relationship from becoming an elaborate show for the media.

"Kevin’s not opposed to dating an actress, but he wants a woman who wants to be loved — not one who’s on the fence about having a real relationship," the source revealed about 'The Bodyguard' star's ambitions for a love life.

The actor has been searching for a self-sufficient woman who is prepared to devote herself to him. The primary need is, of course, that she be open to signing a prenuptial agreement should things develop into anything more serious.

The source added, "She must love kids, have a career of some kind, and she must be open to signing a prenup. There’s no wiggle room on that one."

The actor's stringent regulations are perhaps a result of his previous relationship. Costner was married to Baumgartner, 50, from 2004 to 2024. The former couple share their children — Cayden Wyatt, Hayes Logan, and Grace Avery.

Even though the handbag designer had a prenuptial agreement in place, she contested it in court prior to their divorce settlement, per OK! Magazine.

Furthermore, Baumgartner requested a staggering $248,000 in child support per month, claiming that this was necessary to provide their children with the same rights and standard of living that they had throughout their marriage.

However, a later ruling determined that Costner's monthly obligation was limited to $63,000.

Kevin Costner looking for women like Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon to date

The outlet previously stated that Kevin Costner was trying to locate a famous woman to date like Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston. He did, however, also assert that he was interested in Sandra Bullock or the recently single Reese Witherspoon.

The source revealed to Life and Style, "He’s not setting anything in stone or obsessing over any one woman right now, he’s just really excited about the idea of throwing himself into dating full force."

"He’s done holding himself back, he’s totally opened up to the idea of dating a fellow movie star, and everyone in his world is cheering him on. He’s A-list, so there’s no reason he shouldn’t have an A-list girlfriend," the source added.

Costner is resolved to put the terrible split behind him and continue with his life as it appears that the actor is searching for his next great love.

In a recent interview, the 'Horizon' star stated, "I have no choice. My children are looking at me. I can't wilt like a daisy. I have to go forward, I have to continue to be who I am and keep a special eye on who they are."
