LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Spacey, the acclaimed actor known for his roles in 'House of Cards', has vehemently denied ever offering to aid anyone’s career in exchange for sexual favors.

This comes ahead of a new documentary about the actor set to premiere on Channel 4.

Last year, Spacey, 64, was acquitted of several sexual offenses alleged by four men between 2001 and 2013, following a trial at Southwark Crown Court and has recently made an acting comeback in 'Peter Fight Eight'.

'Spacey Unmasked:' Kevin Spacey slams fresh accusers

However, the spotlight is back on him with the upcoming two-part docuseries 'Spacey Unmasked' which will premiere on Channel 4 on May 6 and 7. The series will bring forth new claims about his past behavior.

In a conversation with former GB News presenter Dan Wootton, Spacey refuted the new allegations.

Despite acknowledging ‘full responsibility’ for his past behavior, the  'American Beauty' star refused to apologize to those "making up’" or exaggerating stories about him, dismissing the new allegations as "ridiculous" and completely offensive."

"I take full responsibility for my past behaviour and my actions. But I cannot and will not take responsibility or apologise to anyone who's made up stuff about me or exaggerated stories about me," he said.

“I’ve never told someone that if they give me sexual favours, then I will help them out with their career," he further detailed in an almost one hour 30 minutes long interview which Don Wood captioned, 'Kevin Spacey finally gets his Right of Reply.' “I’ve got nothing left to hide – you are my jury," he repeated what he told him during the interview.

"I've clearly hooked up with, you know, some men who thought they might get ahead in their careers by having a relationship with me," Spacey admitted.

"But there was no conversation with me, it was all part of their plan, one that was always destined to fail, because I wasn't in on the deal," he continued.

Channel 4's Documentary will feature fresh allegations for 10 men including two actors

Channel 4, which commissioned the documentary in 2022, announced that it would "follow the outcomes of two court cases against Spacey". The documentary, airing on May 6 and 7 at 9 pm, will feature fresh allegations from ten men, including actors Ruari Cannon and Danny De Lillo.

Cannon alleged in an interview with a newspaper that Spacey touched him in a "highly intimate way" at a press night for an Old Vic theatre production in 2013.

Spacey dismissed the allegation as "ridiculous." Meanwhile, De Lillo claimed that in 2007, when he was 22, Spacey pressed his groin against his face while he was seated at a production at the same theatre. Spacey found this accusation "completely offensive."

Spacey admitted to flirting with some people involved in those programs who were in their 20s and even hooking up with another actor.

He also confessed to making a clumsy pass at someone who wasn’t interested. However, he emphasized that it wasn’t illegal and has never been alleged to be illegal.

"Were there times when I would flirt with some of the people who were involved in those programmes who were in their 20s? Yes," Spacey continued.

"Did I ever hook up with another actor? Yes. Did I make a clumsy pass at someone who wasn't interested as it turned out? Yes," he confessed.

"That may not have been the best decision and it's not one that I would do today. But it happened. It wasn't illegal, and nor has it ever been alleged to have been illegal," he said.

All about Kavin Spacey's documentary and his reaction

Last month, Channel 4 released the trailer for 'Spacey Unmasked' featuring voiceovers from two men played over archived footage of the actor.

"This wasn't just any guy … this was Kevin freakin' Spacey' and 'I knew I was in a 'sell your soul' situation," it stated.

The documentary, produced by Channel 4’s former head of news and current affairs Dorothy Byrne will feature on-camera interviews from men in both the UK and the US, spanning fifty years, Daily Mail reported.

In his statement on X on May 2, Spacey wrote, “Over the last week, I have repeatedly requested that @Channel4 afford me more than seven days to respond to allegations made against me dating back 48 years and provide me with sufficient details to investigate these matters.”

He criticized Channel 4’s stance, saying, “I will not sit back and be attacked by a dying network’s one-sided ‘documentary’ about me in their desperate attempt for ratings. There’s a proper channel to handle allegations against me and it’s not Channel 4.”

Spacey highlighted his past experiences where he was given adequate time and a suitable platform to defend himself, leading to his exoneration when the allegations were closely examined.

The actor announced his plans to issue a comprehensive response over the weekend, hinting that the revelations might leave Channel 4 and Roast Beef Productions, the documentary’s co-producers, at a loss for words.

In response to Spacey’s assertions, a spokesperson for Channel 4 maintained their position, stating: “Kevin Spacey has been given sufficient opportunity to respond.”

Internet reactions to Kevin Spacey's response to fresh accusations

Even though the majority of internet users seemed to be talking in support of Spacey few were not impressed.

"Great interview Dan. After watching this I can’t help thinking how his behaviour was no different to how many male actors have treated women since forever - yet Spacey is constantly under attack. It all feels very homophobic to me," wrote an X user in reply to the interview.

"This is the only space I’ve seen given to Spacey to reply to the allegations against him. Utterly horrendous that people are sentenced by the media before a fair trial and without the ability to respond. Great initiative Dan!" wrote one more.

"I’ve never believed any of the allegations against you. Stay strong!!!," wrote another, "Very interesting. Kevin is a great actor. Loved watching him in House of Cards," added one more.

"Love you always Kevin. You are one of the best living actors and you didn't deserve any of this." Yet one lashed out, "Wow! Seems like everyone loves a good pedophile. Lmao."
