Kick Kennedy 'was less than thrilled' when Ben Affleck started dating Ana de Armas in 2020, claims source

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Despite claims from insiders that Ben Affleck and Kick Kennedy are not romantically linked after his split with Jennifer Lopez, a new source stated that the Hollywood actor and Robert F Kennedy Jr's daughter first met in 2020.

However, their alleged romance did not develop because the Oscar-winning actor eventually fell in love with his 'Deep Water' co-star Ana de Armas, leading him to lose contact with Kick Kennedy.

The spokeswoman for Ben Affleck has been struggling to refute rumors that the actor is "spending time" with Kathleen "Kick" Kennedy, a member of the Kennedy family.

Stories about Ben, 52, and Kick, 36, and their alleged unusual connection have persisted even after the spokesman told People that the two are not dating and that they "don’t know if they even know each other."

However, sources revealed to Page Six that Kick and Ben had been friends even before the Oscar winner started dating 'Blonde' star Ana de Armas, 36, in March 2020.

"Their friendship has been going on for a while, even before Ana. When Ben started seeing Ana in 2020 and chose to quarantine with her during Covid, Kick was less than thrilled," spilled one Hollywood insider.

"Affleck would love nothing more than to be part of the Kennedy clan," a Hollywood source close to Ben revealed, before adding, "It’s a dream for any Boston guy … I think he would rather have that than a billion-dollar, red-carpet glam life with JLo."

Ben was drawn to Kick because, according to the source, "when you live in Boston, the Kennedy family is royalty." The insider claimed that Ben "legit thought he had landed in the Kennedy family" when he began "hanging out with Kick," per Daily Mail.

The two reportedly "had a brief fling," but it ended because "she was too young and not ready for anything serious."

Ben and Kick have been in the headlines since the 'On the Floor' hitmaker filed for divorce from the 'Goodwill Hunting' star on August 20.

However, an agent for Ben claimed to Newsweek that "these reports are not true" and that the two were "not spending time together. Not more than friends."

Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas' relationship was reportedly 'complicated'

Ben Affleck and the 'Knives Out' actress began dating in March 2020 while filming for their 2020 movie 'Deep Water' in New Orleans.

Ana moved in with Ben during the pandemic lockdown, but their romance ended in January 2021.

A source claimed at the time, "Ben is no longer dating Ana. She broke it off. Their relationship was complicated. Ana doesn’t want to be in Los Angeles and Ben obviously has to since his kids live in Los Angeles."

According to a different report, they were in different stages of life, and Ben wanted to "work on himself."

However, in April of that year, Ben was photographed with Jennifer, who had just declared her split from Alex Rodriguez.

After a few years of dating Tinder executive Paul Boukadakis, Ana told Elle that her relationship with Ben was "horrible" due to the attention and stalking she had from paparazzi.

She remarked, "That’s one of the reasons why I left LA. Going through it confirmed my thoughts about, ‘This is not the place for me to be.'"

In July 2022, Ben and Jennifer tied the knot in a star-studded wedding held late at night in Las Vegas, followed by a grand celebration at Ben's home in Atlanta, Georgia.

Unfortunately, Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben on August 20, on the eve of their second wedding anniversary, citing irreconcilable differences.
