Kid Rock owns sledgehammer used in Osama bin Laden 2011 raid
During the interview, Kid Rock told Bill Maher that he got the sledgehammer from Rob O’Neill, the Navy SEAL who shot 9/11 terrorist attack mastermind Osama bin Laden in May 2011 after a 10-year manhunt.
Sounding surprised, Maher asked, “The guy who shot Bin Laden? You know who that is?” to which Rock nodded and responded, “Yes, he’s a very good friend of mine. He gave me the sledgehammer which went through Bin Laden’s bedroom.”
"I gave him the (original) lyrics to ‘Born Free,’" Rock added.
Still in disbelief, Maher further asked, "Wait. You have the sledgehammer they broke into Bin Laden’s bedroom with,” before adding, “I hope you have it in a safe, that’s a pretty valuable...”

Rock responded with a grin, “I’m actually going to probably put it somewhere, eventually. I’ve been a little selfish with it. I’m going to put it in a museum or maybe my new restaurant.”
Rock further revealed that he was so blown away by the gift that he offered O’Neill any car from his collection. O’Neill chose a restored limo but never picked it up, so it’s still sitting in Rock’s garage.

The two met at O’Neill’s wedding, and later, the Navy SEAL gifted the legendary sledgehammer to Rock in exchange for the original lyrics to 'Born Free'.
During the interview, Rock also touched on politics, telling Maher he’d love to introduce him to former president Donald Trump over a casual White House meetup. Rock also told conservative commentator Glenn Beck he hopes to see JD Vance in the Oval Office in four years.
However, Rock admitted there’s one scenario where he might draw the line with Trump if he pushes for a third term.
“If he says, ‘I’m running for a third term,’ I’d be like, ‘Whoa, whoa, pump the brakes man. Hold on a second,’” Rock said. “It would be very tough. Very, very tough.”
Kid Rock is gearing up for a short tour this spring, with Chris Janson and Uncle Kracker opening select dates. He’s also launching a two-day music festival in small towns across America, featuring Nickelback, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Travis Tritt, and Big & Rich.

Some users took the conspiracy route, arguing that the entire Bin Laden story was fabricated. “Bin Laden was not his real name, and he was actually CIA. Kid Rock is either a retard or bought and paid for like everybody else in the music industry,” one person speculated.
