Kim Kardashian censors ex's name during her 'light-bulb moment' while revealing why she dumped him
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian spoke out about her journey to seek therapy on the Season 5 finale of ‘The Kardashians’, leading her to censor the name of an ex-boyfriend.
During the finale episode of the fifth season of their family show, Kim finally admits to Kourtney that she was right all along for suggesting the SKIMS founder required professional help.
As Kim admits her epiphany to Kourtney, who previously suggested she seek therapy, the eldest Kardashian sister was left shocked. Stunned, she replied with just one word, saying “Stop," per Daily Mail.
Kim Kardashian opens up about her therapy journey
Following Kim’s meeting with Kourtney in her Los Angeles home, the mother-of-four shared in a confessional, “Kourtney is back from Australia, and I’ve been waiting patiently to tell her about my therapy journey.”
She continued, “I always would say as a kid that Kourtney did everything first and I would just copy her, and like it’s kinda true.”
However, during the confessional, the billionaire businesswoman admitted that she was not very conducive to accepting suggestions from others.
Kim explained, “When someone tells me not to do something that I planned on, I physically get like, you’re getting in my way, and I will bulldoze whatever’s in my way, cause you’re not gonna tell me to change my schedule.”
In this context, she mentioned one of her exes but the production left the name censored during the final airing.
She shared, “I feel like that’s how I would get in relationships, like when (censored) started to tell me, you work so much. Why don’t you just take the week off? And I’m like, get out of here. Take the week off? That was the beginning of the end.”
Kim explained that it was “the beginning of the end” for her in that relationship. However, during the rest of the episode, she did not discuss her ex again.
While the name is not explicitly mentioned, there is a probability that the ex mentioned was probably Pete Davidson, whom she dated after splitting from Kanye West, per Daily Mail.
The former couple was in a nine-month relationship and attended the Met Gala together in 2022.
Kim reveals her therapist thought Kris Jenner needed therapy
Throughout the rest of the episode, Kim not only shared her therapy journey but also revealed her therapist’s assessments.
Kim shared in the episode, “You had to go through it first, and then I’m like I’m gonna do this,” when Kourtney added, “Now you see why I wanted you guys to be on it.”
“My therapist told me she watched the show and was like, all your sisters need therapy, mainly you and Khloe need therapy, and your mom,” added Kim about her therapist’s observations.
At that time, the Poosh founder, however, lamented that she had previously tried telling her mother, Kris Jenner, about seeking therapy which she promptly disregarded.
Kourtney, who is also a mother-of-four, added, “I tried to mention it with mom on the show, and she just kept cutting me off.”
The two sisters continued to be in the conversation, when Kim added, “I think it comes off like the way you explain it….”
As Kourtney replied, “Like you need help or something,” Kim shared, “Yeah, like you’re a little bit judgmental.”
The scene cuts to Kourtney sharing in a confession, “I think there’s an analyzing other people part too, where like I would be like, ooh, I know why you’re doing that. It’s hard not to like restrain from telling the person.”
She explained, “It comes across as being like a know-it-all, so I think I had that phase. It’s all a journey in growth, but I think I’m at the place now where I’m like, yeah, do you, whatever, which I think is the unbothered place is the good place to get to. Unbothered. Kourtney is unbothered.”
She further told Kim, “I loved what she was saying, though, about the trauma, that you probably didn’t deal with your… trauma, or that your way of dealing with it would be…” as Kim took the cue and finished, “is just like extra calm.”
“I do the calmness too, like I’ll be, it’s like you downplay everything almost as like self-protection, but I think that’s why in like emergency situations, I feel like my superpower is to be calm,” added Kourtney.
Kim further added in confession, “I would always say how calm I am and that’s my superpower, but my therapist felt like it’s a trauma response, of me remaining calm, in living a life that I always have to be in this fight or flight mode. It was such a light bulb moment.”
