Kim Kardashian seeks restraining order against stalker who once gave her co-star Emma Roberts a scare
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian has requested a restraining order against an alleged stalker who has previously frightened her 'American Horror Story' co-star Emma Roberts.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the reality TV actress, 43, filed for a restraining order against Melvin Jeffery Conley following a conversation she had with Roberts, her co-star in 'American Horror Story: Delicate'.
Kim Kardashian files for restraining order against stalker
According to court documents, Emma Roberts, 33, called Kim Kardashian to alert her that a man who had broken into her house said he wanted to meet the reality TV star and her children.
Melvin Jeffery Conley allegedly broke into the California home of the former Nickelodeon star and used her landline to call her cellphone, per TMZ.
Although she missed the call, Roberts assumed it was from a family member because it was made from her landline, so she returned the call and Conley answered.
Conley told her that she had permitted him to stay at her house, which obviously was a lie. He also said he wanted to meet Kim and her children.
Roberts alerted the police as soon as she realized her home had been broken into, but Conley was able to escape.
According to Kim Kardashian's filings, the next day Conley went to the home of her mother, Kris Jenner, 68, and informed the security staff that he thought he was at Kim's house because he was her "long-time manager".
Furthermore, he said he was a player for the Toronto Raptors and was supposed to meet the SKIMS founder on the day he arrived at Jenner's house.
Conley supposedly paid a visit to Kardashian's Malibu house in July, which is not her primary location, as part of his ongoing efforts to get in touch with her, per Daily Mail.
This has caused 'The Kardashians' star "worry, concern and severe emotional distress" as she claims it is hard to find her Malibu house because it is not her primary residence and has not received much publicity.
Kim expressed concern in her filings about the fact that Conley discovered the Malibu home - a sign of how desperate he was to get in touch with her and her family.
Emma Roberts secured five-year restraining order against same stalker
Emma Roberts had eventually succeeded in obtaining a five-year restraining order against Melvin Jeffery Conley, which also protects her three-year-old son Rhodes Robert Hedlund as well.
According to Roberts' statements in the affidavits, Conley "has eluded arrest and continues to send me disturbing text messages, I am in sustained fear and am afraid to return to my own home", per Independent.
The restraining order stated that Conley is not permitted to "harass, intimidate, molest, attack, strike, stalk, threaten, assault (sexually or otherwise), hit, abuse, destroy personal property of, or disturb the peace" of Roberts or her son.
Additionally, he is prohibited from making any kind of contact with Roberts and is required to stay a minimum of 100 yards from her home, place of employment, and son's school.
Kim Kardashian has had plenty of trouble with stalkers in the past
According to reports, Kim Kardashian has a history of run-ins with stalkers. In 2023, an alleged stalker was apprehended after entering her gated neighborhood despite being under a temporary restraining order.
The man, identified as Jomoine Victor Zigler by law enforcement insiders, approached Kardashian's house extremely close, per TMZ.
Zigler was reportedly arrested and charged with a misdemeanor breach of a protection order. The reality personality filed for and was given a temporary restraining order against Zigler following the incident.
Among other unpleasant actions, Kardashian claimed that Zigler had called her his wife, visited her house multiple times, and brought her a diamond ring.
According to TMZ, Kardashian was granted a five-year restraining order in December 2022 against Andre Persaud, a guy who claimed to have been able to "telepathically" interact with the reality star.
She informed the court that Persaud, whom she never met, made three appearances at her house in August 2022, and she was concerned that things could get violent.
