LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian recently admitted she was "mortified" after her son, Saint, shared a post on her Instagram promoting his Fortnite channel, just hours after Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential win.

The timing of the post, coming on Election Day, left many fans shocked and led to backlash, with some fans speculating that her eight-year-old son was responsible for the ill-timed content.

Kim Kardashian reveals son Saint took her phone and posted Election Day reel

Speaking on 'What in the Winkler?' podcast, Kim Kardashian confirmed that Saint had taken her phone and posted the Reel. "My publicist is writing me like, 'This is what you're posting on Election Day?'" she recalled.

Kim was quick to defend her son, adding, "And I was like, 'It’s a kid. He has no idea.'" She said it was a moment of embarrassment, but emphasized that Saint wasn’t aware of the significance of the day.

Kardashian went on to explain how, as a parent, she has learned to give herself grace during situations like these. "Like if your kid says a bad word or something where you would be mortified," she continued.

"Like when Saint took my phone and posted…" The post, which encouraged people to subscribe to Saint’s Fortnite channel, was immediately met with confusion and disappointment from fans, who felt it was tone-deaf given the political climate.

Kim Kardashian deletes son Saint's youTube channel over controversial posts

This wasn’t the first time Saint’s social media activity led to controversy. In the weeks prior, Kim Kardashian was forced to delete his YouTube account after he posted videos that were critical of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Saint’s YouTube channel, @TheGoatSaint, was removed, and Kardashian explained on the podcast why it happened. “He reposted a video, something about the election, and I took his account down just because he has to ask me before every post,” Kim explained. "So he’s just started a Fortnite account, and I’m like, you have got to give yourself grace.”

Kardashian had previously set clear rules for Saint’s social media presence. In September, she made him sign a strict contract to have a YouTube channel. "I, Saint West, agree to follow my mom’s rules in order to have a YouTube channel," the contract stated. "I am not allowed to comment any personal family information."

The contract also required Saint to show his mom or a guardian any videos before posting them. If he violated any of the rules, Kim reserved the right to make his account private or delete it.

Kim Kardashian shared an image of the contract on Instagram, captioning it: "I finally allowed Saint to have a YouTube Channel after signing an extensive contract. Please Subscribe!" She humorously added, "Saint signed a solid contract for this YouTube Channel, and he better not breach."

Despite the viral backlash, Kim took a forgiving stance, acknowledging that kids are bound to make mistakes. "Sometimes I like when kids work it out themselves, and they figure it out themselves," she said.

"Sometimes we have to intervene." She added that she wasn’t always harsh with her children but now feels the need to be firmer: "If I don’t do this now, then they are always going to get their way. The lesson won’t be learned."

Backlash over Saint's Fortnite post fuels speculation about Kim Kardashian's political leanings and parenting choices

According to the Daily Mail, the Instagram post promoting Saint’s Fortnite channel, which went up on the morning after the election, caused a stir in the comments. Fans criticized Kim Kardashian for sharing such an out-of-touch post during such a tense time.

One commenter referenced Kourtney Kardashian’s famous remark, “Kim, there’s people that are dying," from an old episode of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians', where Kourtney called out Kim for focusing on a material issue.

Another user sarcastically wrote, "Nah this post wins most out of touch human award lol."

Some even questioned Kardashian’s judgment in letting Saint run a public account, with one remarking, "People on the internet can interact with your son at his age?"

In addition to the fallout from the Fortnite post, some online commentators connected Saint’s behavior to his father, Kanye West’s, political support of Trump.

Several X (formerly Twitter) users pointed out that Saint’s posts reflected his father’s political leanings. One user wrote, "@KimKardashian undelete please. Saint West doing right things."

Others criticized Kim for deleting Saint’s content, suggesting she was suppressing his political expression.

One user tagged Kim, saying, "@KimKardashian please undelete. Saint West is doing the right thing."

Another user shared a GIF of a sad-looking Kanye, commenting, "So, #KimKardashian deleted Saint West's #YouTube channel because he posted his political views, and she didn’t agree. Got it."

Kim Kardashian's political silence post-2024 election raises questions about her views

In addition to her parenting concerns, Kim Kardashian's political silence following the 2024 election has sparked speculation.

While she has worked with both Democrats and Republicans on criminal justice reform, her close relationship with Ivanka Trump has led some fans to wonder about her political views.

Despite this, Kardashian has not publicly declared whether she supported Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris in the election.
