PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Monday, January 6, should have been all about celebrating Eric Trump’s 41st birthday—a milestone for the president-elect’s second son. But Kimberly Guilfoyle seemed to turn the occasion into something much more personal.

Instead of keeping the spotlight squarely on Eric, Kimberly's Instagram tribute seemed to carry a deeper, bittersweet message about her fractured relationship with Donald Trump Jr.

Kimberly Guilfoyle's post celebrating Eric Trump's birthday said it all

Kimberly Guilfoyle shared a throwback photo of herself with the Trump family, including her ex-fiance, Donald Trump Jr, tucked into the group shot. On the surface, it was a gesture to honor Eric Trump’s big day, but the inclusion of Don Jr hinted at unresolved feelings.

Whether intentional or not, her post came off as a yearning for the past—a quiet nod to the relationship she hasn’t fully let go of, according to The List.

It’s not the first time Kimberly has used social media to air her lingering heartache. Just days earlier, on Don Jr’s birthday (December 31), she posted a series of intimate collages featuring photos of them together.

While the photos captured happier times, the posts had somewhat of a melancholy tone — starkly contrasting with the joy she once shared with him during their engagement.

From MAGA power couple to awkward exes

Kimberly Guilfoyle and Donald Trump Jr were once the quintessential MAGA power couple, united in their devotion to the Trump dynasty.

Their relationship began in 2018 after Don Jr’s divorce from Vanessa Trump, with whom he shares five children. By 2020, they were engaged and Kimberly was a staple at Trump rallies, fiercely championing the family’s cause.

"Don and I knew each other for years but when we went on one date years later, that was it. Sparks. In fact, we have been together from that night on, happily ever after!" the former Fox News host gushed to Metropolitan Magazine in 2022.

But their "happily ever after" unraveled quietly. By November 2024, the couple was no longer seen together — sparking rumors of a potential split.

Donald Trump Jr moved on rather quickly with new flame Bettina Anderson

While Kimberly Guilfoyle appears to be clinging to the past, Donald Trump Jr seems to have moved on without hesitation. Over the holidays, he brought his new girlfriend, Bettina Anderson, to the Trump family’s Christmas dinner at Mar-a-Lago.

A photo from the event showed Bettina by Don Jr’s side, replacing Kimberly in a space she had occupied for years.

Social media wasn’t kind to Kimberly. Many on X (formerly Twitter) were quick to mock her absence, comparing her former status as Don Jr's partner with the Palm Beach socialite's newfound place at the family table.

"@kimguilfoyle Remember the good old days when it was you by Don Jr.'s side at these soirees at Mar-a-Lago? Look, now your 'fiancé' has a younger, slimmer woman by his side, and you are nowhere to be seen!" one jibed.

Another quipped, "Kim Guilfoyle is on a slow boat to Greece, never to be seen again," referring to President-elect Trump naming her the US ambassador to Greece.

Someone else added, "I hope Kimberly Guilefoyl [Guilfoyle] has a wake up call and spills the beans—after being dumped for her 'style.'"

Before her engagement to Don Jr, Kimberly was married to California Governor Gavin Newsom, making her a rare political figure who has been deeply embedded in both the liberal and conservative camps.
