LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Despite positive updates from the British royal family about the health of King Charles and Kate Middleton, a source claims that neither is in "good shape."

They said, as per Marca, "It's going to be a tough road ahead for both her and Charles."

Both announced earlier this year that they were battling cancer without specifying the exact nature of their diagnoses.

King Charles and Kate Middleton have been hopeful about their treatments

Buckingham Palace confirmed the 75-year-old monarch’s diagnosis in February by issuing a statement that read, "During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer."

It added, "His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible."

Amid speculation about her absence from the public sphere, the Princess of Wales decided to share the devastating news of her diagnosis via a video in March.

She said, "In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present."

Kate added, "My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment."

"We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space, and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now, I must focus on making a full recovery," shared the mother of three.

Insider claims Kate Middleton and King Charles aren't doing well

The recent updates from the royals regarding King Charles and Kate Middleton's health have been positive.

During the opening of the Dyson Cancer Centre in Bath, Queen Camilla said that her husband is "doing very well."

Kate recently shared a video on social media to commemorate the end of her chemotherapy.

She shared, "Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes."

"Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life," further noted the Princess of Wales.

The insider, however, claimed, "Kate is not in remission and not cancer-free. She's not in good shape at all."

They added, "I had thought Charles was more treatable, but both of them are not well. One of them won't live very long, and plans need to be in place."
